Tech scam or a false technical error notice is not a new thing for Windows users. Recently, another such scam has been making rounds on Windows devices — Message 000029.
According to the user reports, affected systems get a “Message 000029” pop-up asking users to download some stuff within 240 seconds, or they will lose some files on their PC.
Experts over at Microsoft Community forums have described “Message 000029” as a Tech Support Scam. Downloading the said file on PC corrupts the system and then the attackers would ask for money from the user to fix their PC.
If you see such messages on your computer, simply close it. Do not interact with it in any way. Most importantly, don’t download anything from the pop-up.
