The boss you meet first is Zuko, who holds ground in the Windy Peak area, close to the shrine and the shop. The placement is deliberate. He is the wall the opening region puts in the way once you have found your feet, and clearing the order to defeat Zuko is part of settling into the peak rather than a detour away from it.
He fights with a short curved blade and favours close range. Zuko opens with a double cut and, when given no room, breaks into a quick-draw flurry, so the fight punishes crowding him without an escape ready. Learn the spacing against him before pushing further out, because the same close, aggressive pattern turns up again on the tougher ground beyond Windy Peak, where there is less room to make the same mistake twice.
