Sorcerer Ascent Boss Guide: Drops, Locations, and Respawn Mechanics

Sorcerer Ascent features eleven distinct bosses spread across different regions, each tied to level progression and gear farming. Understanding where each boss spawns, what they drop, and when they return is essential for efficient grinding and unlocking specific weapons, skills, and accessories.

Quick answer: Every boss respawns 5 minutes after defeat at fixed locations (except Grasshopper Curse, which spawns randomly during rain). Most bosses drop Energy Shards at 75% chance, plus region-specific weapons, skills, and accessories with lower drop rates.

Early-Game Bosses (Levels 10–35)

Village Invaders Leader appears at the Ruined Village and requires level 10+. This boss drops Energy Shards (75%), Invader Leader clothing pieces (shirt, pants, coat at 14%, 14%, and 4% respectively), and the Uppercut Scroll skill (10%). The clothing items are purely cosmetic accessories.

Town Warden spawns at Hotarugawa Town for level 20+ players. Beyond the standard Energy Shard drop, this boss has a 30% chance to drop the Cursed Tanto weapon—one of the earliest viable weapons in the game. The Town Warden also drops dungeon key components: the Hotarugawa Dungeon Key Upper Part and Bottom Part each at 7.5%, or the complete Hotarugawa Dungeon Key at 3%. Collecting the key pieces or full key unlocks access to the Hotarugawa Dungeon.

Lieutenant is found in Minagata Village at level 30+. This boss drops the Lieutenant Headband accessory at 30% (the highest drop rate for a non-shard item at this stage) plus matching coat, shirt, and pants at 10% each. The Kick Combo Scroll skill drops at 4%.

Yuji Itadori waits at Jujutsu High for level 35+ players. The Slaughter Demon weapon drops at 10%—a solid epic-tier weapon for mid-game progression. Character-themed clothing (Yuji Pants and Yuji Shirt) each drop at only 1%, making them rare cosmetics. The Rush Kick Scroll skill appears at 4%.

Mid-Game Bosses (Levels 45–75)

Nanami Kento also spawns at Jujutsu High but requires level 45+. The Ratio Cleaver weapon drops at 4%—a glorious-tier weapon useful for players pursuing the Ratio Cursed Technique. Nanami-themed accessories (glasses, shirt, pants, jacket) range from 4% down to 1%, with the jacket being the rarest. The Uptilt Kick Scroll skill drops at 10%.

Vice Captain appears at Kanazawa Town for level 55+ players. Like Town Warden, this boss offers dungeon key components: the Kanazawa Dungeon Key Upper Part and Bottom Part, each at 7.5%, or the complete key at 3%. The Vice-Captain Coat accessory drops at 10%, with matching shirt and pants at 4% each. The Sweep Kick Scroll skill drops at 10%.

Ryoma's Soul is located in Kaito Village and requires level 75+. This boss drops Ryoma-themed clothing (scarf at 4%, kimono and hakama each at 1%) and the Flash Stomp Scroll skill at 4%. The cosmetic items are particularly rare, making this boss a long grind for collectors.

Late-Game and Endgame Bosses (Levels 85–105+)

Grasshopper Curse operates differently from all other bosses. It spawns randomly anywhere on the map during rainy weather and requires level 85+. This unpredictable spawn pattern makes it harder to farm consistently. The boss drops the Illusion Assault Scroll skill and Health Rune item each at 4%, plus grasshopper-themed clothing at 4% and 1%. Most notably, Domain Expansion Essence drops at only 0.5%—one of the rarest items in the game and a critical resource for advanced players.

Yasue Toru spawns at Yoshiwara City for level 95+ players. This boss has a unique drop table: Energy Shards (75%), New Shadow Style Book (5%), and Any Box of Luck (45%). The high Box of Luck drop rate makes Yasue Toru valuable for players seeking random rewards without farming specific bosses.

Kato Akumori appears at Yoshiwara City alongside Yasue Toru and requires level 100+. Kato-themed accessories (necklace, shirt, greaves, cape) drop at 4%, 1%, 1%, and 1%, respectively. The Cursed Energy Slash Scroll skill drops at 4%. This boss is primarily for cosmetic collectors and skill hunters.

Wraith Blue Curse is the final endgame boss, located in Blue Forest and requiring level 105+. This boss drops Potential Stone (15%)—the highest non-shard drop rate—and Reverse Knowledge (2%). Wraith-themed clothing drops at 1% each. Domain Expansion Essence appears at 0.95%, making this the second-best source for this ultra-rare item after Grasshopper Curse.

Respawn Mechanics and Farming Strategy

All bosses respawn exactly 5 minutes after defeat. This fixed timer means you can plan grinding sessions around specific bosses without waiting indefinitely. The exception is Grasshopper Curse, which requires rainy weather to spawn and cannot be reliably farmed on a schedule.

Energy Shards appear in every boss's drop table at 75%, making them the most common reward. If you're targeting a specific weapon or skill, expect to receive many shards before hitting your desired item. Dungeon keys from Town Warden and Vice Captain are essential for accessing dungeons and unlocking additional weapons like the Pole (from Hotarugawa Dungeon) and Glaive (from Kanazawa Dungeon).

Domain Expansion Essence is the bottleneck resource for endgame progression. Only Grasshopper Curse (0.5%) and Wraith Blue Curse (0.95%) drop it, making both bosses worth farming despite their low rates. Yasue Toru's high Box of Luck drop rate offers an alternative path to rare items without targeting a specific boss.
