The Best Weapons in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, Ranked

The Best Weapons in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, Ranked

Seven Deadly Sins: Origin features 12 distinct weapon types, and every character can equip more than one. That flexibility is great in theory, but it also means you'll burn through resources fast if you upgrade the wrong gear. Knowing which weapons actually matter — and which ones are safe to skip — saves you pulls, materials, and a lot of frustration in endgame content.

Quick answer: The Black Flame Wings weapon set (available across all types) and the Gluttonous Soul Longsword are the two strongest investments you can make right now. Prioritize upgrading whichever one fits your main DPS character first.

How Weapon Sets and Named Weapons Work

Weapons in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin fall into a few categories. Four major named weapon sets — Black Flame Wings, Jet-Black, Crimson Flame, and Blazing — span all 12 weapon types. If you pull a weapon from one of these sets, it shares the same passive bonuses and comparable stat ranges regardless of whether it's a greatsword, wand, or lance variant. These sets tend to be the rarest pulls in the gacha, and for good reason.

Outside the sets, individual uniquely named weapons exist for specific weapon types. Eternal Grace (Dual Swords), Gluttonous Soul (Longsword), and Razorwind (Wand) are examples. These standalone weapons often rival or surpass the named sets within their particular type. Finally, you'll encounter generic rarer weapons — Artisan's, Guardian's, Pursuer's, and similar prefixed gear — that fill gaps but rarely compete with the top options.

Not every weapon is worth keeping. If a weapon doesn't appear in the rankings below, it's generally outclassed and should be replaced as soon as you pull something better.

S-Tier Weapons — Best in the Game

S-tier weapons are the strongest and most broadly useful options available. Any character that can equip one of these should.

WeaponTypeWhy It's S-Tier
Black Flame Wings WeaponsAll typesActivating a burst dramatically increases attack (roughly 40%) and crit chance simultaneously. With a base attack around 605 and strong crit damage scaling, these are the most flexible and consistent DPS weapons in the game. Every character benefits.
Gluttonous SoulLongswordEach skill use stacks additional Darkness damage with no apparent cap on how high it climbs. The highest base attack among listed weapons (637) makes it devastating in sustained fights. Upgrade this one early.
Eternal GraceDual SwordsThe premier sustain weapon. When your character's HP drops low, healing efficiency spikes sharply, keeping you alive through boss fights and extended encounters. A 624 base attack means offense doesn't suffer either.
Indomitable GuardGreatswordMassively boosts block rate and defense when HP is low, turning any wielder into a tank. At 607 base attack, it hits hard enough for hybrid damage-defense builds.
Ruler of the ForestAxeHigh base attack paired with a significant Earth Attack bonus. Craft it as soon as you can if you're running Earth-element characters.
RazorwindWandA steep flat attack increase plus a strong Wind Attack bonus. Excellent for any character with access to Wind-element skills.

If you're unsure where to spend upgrade materials first, Black Flame Wings weapons and Gluttonous Soul should be at the top of your list. They offer the widest return across different team compositions.

A-Tier Weapons — Strong Alternatives

A-tier weapons perform well in most situations but either require specific timing, carry some RNG, or lack the raw versatility of S-tier picks. They're excellent choices while you work toward top-tier gear.

WeaponTypeWhy It's A-Tier
Jet-Black WeaponsAll typesUsing your ultimate has a chance to grant a massive crit chance boost — potentially up to around 80%. The problem is that it's RNG-based, so you can't rely on it every burst window. When it procs, the damage is enormous. When it doesn't, you're left with a solid but unremarkable weapon.
Crimson Flame WeaponsAll typesBurst activation grants a large, reliable attack increase. No crit scaling means the ceiling is lower than Black Flame Wings, but the consistency makes these a dependable option for straightforward DPS builds.
Dark Clouds EnhancementStaffProvides a standard attack increase alongside a generous Lightning Attack bonus. Staves have a steeper learning curve, but this weapon rewards the effort for Lightning-focused characters.
Melody of TemptationGrimoireBoosts outright attack damage and delivers a large Darkness Attack increase. Ideal for any Darkness-element character on your team.
Dead Spirit's BreathNunchakuA significant Physical Attack damage boost for characters who lean into physical movesets. Straightforward and effective.

B-Tier Weapons — Situational Picks

B-tier weapons can work well under specific conditions or in certain team compositions, but they're generally less consistent. Replace them with higher-tier options when you get the chance.

WeaponTypeWhy It's B-Tier
Blazing WeaponsAll typesIncreases damage dealt to enemies at full health, making them strong for opening strikes. Effectiveness drops off sharply as the fight continues, which limits their value in longer encounters.
Chaos SongRapierSlowed enemies take increased damage and suffer defense reduction. The catch is that you need another source of slow on your team to trigger the effect, making it setup-dependent.
Thorn of GreedLanceAmplifies damage against enemies affected by damage-over-time effects like bleed, burn, or poison. Powerful in dedicated DoT teams but nearly useless outside them.
Unyielding SpiritSword & ShieldImproves barrier efficiency for better survivability. No direct damage boost, so it's strictly a tank/sustain option. Good for endurance characters but limited everywhere else.
Corrupted WeaponsMultiple types (including Corrupted Will Gauntlets)Offer conditional buffs like crit damage or skill damage, but effects rely on proc chances and specific triggers. The RNG makes them inconsistent. Corrupted Will Gauntlets are the standout of this group if you lack set gauntlets.

Upgrade Priority

Resources are limited early on, so focusing your weapon upgrades matters. The Gluttonous Soul Longsword should be one of the first weapons you scale because its stacking Darkness damage compounds over the course of a fight — the longer the battle, the more value you extract from every material you invested. Black Flame Wings weapons are the other top priority since they work on any character in any DPS role.

After those two, Eternal Grace and Indomitable Guard deserve attention if you're struggling with survivability in harder content. The defensive scaling on both weapons becomes noticeably stronger at higher upgrade levels, and having one reliable sustain weapon can be the difference between clearing a boss and hitting a wall.

For everything else, hold off on heavy investment until you've secured your core loadout. B-tier weapons serve as functional placeholders, but pouring scarce upgrade materials into them when an S-tier pull could arrive on your next banner is a common trap worth avoiding.
