Neverness to Everness: Last Bus Out Anomaly Commission Walkthrough (Wayward Line)

Board the Duskmoor night bus, escort a grey puppet and a shadow aboard, and finish the Wayward Line for its full reward list.

Board the Duskmoor night bus, escort a grey puppet and a shadow aboard, and finish the Wayward Line for its full reward list.

The Last Bus Out is an Anomaly Commission in Neverness to Everness that turns an ordinary night bus into the Wayward Line anomaly. There is no combat here. Instead, you ride the bus between three stops and bring back a missing passenger at each one. Two of those passengers follow opposite rules, so matching the objective marker is not enough on its own.

Quick answer: Start the bus at the Duskmoor stop, escort the grey puppet back while keeping it on screen, flip three switches to free the shadow and lead it aboard, then let Taygedo chase the bus at the final stop.

Last Bus Out location in Duskmoor

In Duskmoor, find the commission at the roadside stop east of the Jade Court Volleyball arena. The Wayward Line carries the classification Class II Object Anomaly, identifier R-1813(Ob); the advised response is to observe its passengers.

Put the commission on your tracker, go to the stop, and change the game clock to nighttime. Start by locating the newspaper on the bench; it triggers the events.

Start the Wayward Line bus

Examine the newspaper on the bench, take a seat, and wait there. Night falls, and the automated bus arrives.
Board the bus and take a seat. Stay seated until the vehicle reaches the next stop, where the first passenger objective begins.

Stop 1: Escort the grey puppet to the bus

According to the opening paper, a special child has disappeared and must be brought home. The stop’s puzzle hinges on a single rule, but that rule changes midway, so use each clue as it appears.

Step out of the bus and inspect the bench newspaper. Across the road, locate a puppet; then use the lights as your guide to an enclosed puppet-filled space.

A puppet stands in the way of the entrance. The regular puppets shift position only while outside your view; turn the camera away from the middle one and look back to clear a route. To move faster, you may instead circle around the group.
Head to the back of the area and find the special child. It is grey, which sets it apart from every other puppet. Interact with it and it will stand up.
Keep the grey puppet visible as you guide it toward the bus. Walk in reverse to keep it within the frame, and stop every few steps so it can close the gap.
Open the bus, allow the puppet to board, and wait until it settles into a seat. Take a seat too, then travel to the following stop.

If you lose sight of the grey puppet it disappears. If that happens, leave the play area completely and look back toward it, and it will reappear so you can start the escort again.

Stop 2: Free the shadow with the three switches

At the second stop a strange shadow sits beside another newspaper. Reading it sets the new objective, which is to set the shadow free. Unlike the puppet, you do not need to keep this passenger in sight. You need to open its cage by turning off three switches.

Cross the road and follow the lamps to the next fenced-off area. At its entrance, a clue notes three switches altogether, beside one switch.

Flip the switch at the entrance, then head inside and press the second switch. A shadow guards the deeper area, and if it catches you while you push toward the third switch it resets you to the starting point.
Instead of forcing your way through the interior, leave and walk around the outside of the structure until you find a side entrance. This route reaches the third switch without triggering the same loop.
Trigger switch number three, then sprint straight back in the bus’s direction. The shadow will pursue you; maintain a lead while keeping it on your trail until you arrive at the stop.
Make sure the shadow boards the bus. Let it get on first, then sit down and ride to the final stop.

Stop 3: The Taygedo sequence

The last stop has no puzzle. Taygedo is waiting on the bench, and the sequence plays out the same way no matter what you say.

Talk to Taygedo. It refuses to board the bus regardless of your dialogue choice, so there is nothing to solve in the conversation itself.
Return to the bus and sit down. When the bus pulls away, Taygedo chases it into the road, and the bus stops mid-route to let it climb aboard before continuing.

How to confirm the commission is complete

With all three passengers aboard, the bus drives into an underground containment garage and you are dropped off. This ends the Wayward Line, shows the Nullification Complete screen, and unlocks the One Strange Ride achievement. The rewards land at the same time.

The challenge centers on two stops: during stop one, keep the grey puppet visible; at stop two, draw the shadow into pursuit. With both seated, the Taygedo stretch and concluding drive proceed automatically.
