Dranactus is a sub-area of Altgard in Aion 2, and it packs three kinds of open-world collectibles into one stretch of coast and ruins. Asmodian players working through the region will pass Empyrean Traces to gather, Sealed Dungeons to clear, and a single stronghold to capture. Everything here is one-time content, so once you sweep it, you are done for good on that character.
Quick answer: Dranactus holds 27 Empyrean Traces, five level-25 Sealed Dungeons, and the Latrima Outpost stronghold. Resonate traces at the Altgard Monolith; each dungeon and the stronghold is a one-time clear.
All 27 Empyrean Traces in Dranactus
Empyrean Traces appear as red floating crystal markers. On the Asmodian side you collect Empyrean Trace: Altgard [Bound], and picking one up is only the first half of the job. The pickups do nothing on their own until you resonate them at the Altgard Monolith, which is where the actual rewards land.
Many of the 27 traces sit on terrain you cannot simply walk to. Expect to glide down cliffsides, drop into rock crevices, climb a central spire structure, and in one case take a long glide out to high floating chained islands. Deploying your wings to glide is the standard way to reach the elevated and offshore ones.

The coast is where several traces hide. Some line the sandy beach shoreline, others sit on offshore rock pillars you glide across water to reach, and a few are tucked against the coastal cliffs.

Several traces are planted inside enemy territory. You will find them among red fields and vegetation, inside tent camps, and on the wooden palisades and watchtowers of encampments, so clearing a few minor mobs along the way is normal.

The metal ruin toward the north of the area hides a cluster. One trace sits at the base of the structure, another is reached by gliding down inside it, and a third is grabbed by circling the exterior scaffolding ribs.

Resonating the batch at the Altgard Monolith is what converts them into Wisdom Stones, which each grant a permanent skill point, and Amulet Enhance Scrolls that feed amulet and skill power. Do not skip this step after a collection run, or the traces sit unused.

Add to Google Preferences →All five Sealed Dungeons in Dranactus
The five Sealed Dungeons here are solo instances marked by green swirling vortex portals. All five are recommended for level 25 and belong to the Asmodian side. Each one is a single clear that pays out Daevanion progression, and every dungeon also hands over a unique title.

| Dungeon | Recommended level | Boss | Title reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| High Priest’s Ruins | 25 | — | Weight of Trust |
| Drana Depository | 25 | This Is Really Starting to Dragon | |
| Dark Root Cave | 25 | — | Sit Still |
| Skurv Laborer Den | 25 | — | Whack-a-Mole |
| Twisted Pit | 25 | — | Photographic Memory |
All five award the same package. Completing any one grants Kina x15,000, 2 Sealed Wing Featherdown (Bound), 2 Statue Scrap: Night Illusion Wings (Bound), 2 Daevanion Crystal (Bound), 2 Wisdom Stone (Bound), 1,250 Enhance Stone, and the title associated with that dungeon.
A few have context worth knowing before you enter. High Priest’s Ruins is where the body of High Priest Hystan, whose soul was stolen by Fafnite, was finally sealed by the Nornir after rampaging across Altgard. Drana Depository is a Balaur storehouse watched over by Depository Manager Arya. Skurv Laborer Den is a Mumu training ground run by a harsh overseer, Dark Root Cave holds a Drana-contaminated Agrint and a treasure said to lie inside, and Twisted Pit descends toward the Ancient City of Ru and its lost records.
Clearing High Priest’s Ruins also closes out the matching Exploration quest of the same name, which starts automatically and unlocks at level 1. Finishing the dungeon completes it for 410,288 experience.
Inside High Priest’s Ruins and Dark Root Cave there is a Precious Treasure Chest to open before you finish, so sweep the instance rather than rushing the exit.
Ruins of the Ancient City of Ru (level 45)
Sitting off the coast northeast of Dranactus is a sixth dungeon, the Ruins of the Ancient City of Ru, reached by gliding across the water to an offshore island portal. It is a much later target than the five level-25 instances. The recommended level is 45, and entry only opens after you complete the area’s Rift Fissure. Plan to leave this one until you are near the level cap rather than attempting it during your first pass through the region.
Latrima Outpost stronghold
Dranactus contains one stronghold, the Latrima Outpost. You enter through the fortress gate and claim the capture by opening the main Treasure Chest on the dais inside. Like the traces and dungeons, it is a one-time clear, so a single successful run finishes it permanently on that character.
Altgard region totals for reference
Dranactus is one piece of the wider Altgard map, and it helps to know how much the full region holds when you are planning how far a collection sweep still has to go. These are the totals across all of Altgard, not Dranactus alone.
| Feature | Count in Altgard |
|---|---|
| Empyrean Traces | 560 |
| Dungeon entrances | 85 |
| Hidden cubes | 59 |
| Hidden cube possible spots | 1,371 |
| Monoliths | 2 |
| Rifts | 15 |
| Teleport statues | 61 |
The two Monoliths listed above are where you resonate your Altgard traces, and the 61 teleport statues are worth binding as you pass them so you can jump back to any corner of the map when you return to finish leftover clears.
How to confirm each clear
Each Empyrean Trace registers the moment you interact with the crystal marker, but the rewards only apply once you resonate the batch at the Monolith, where you will see Wisdom Stones and Amulet Enhance Scrolls added. Use the map’s Content filter to check which traces a zone still has outstanding.
A Sealed Dungeon confirms as complete with a dungeon completion reward screen and a “Title Acquired” banner naming that dungeon’s title. The Latrima Outpost confirms when you open the main Treasure Chest on the dais and the outpost registers as captured. Once all 27 traces are resonated, all five dungeons show cleared, and the outpost is taken, Dranactus is finished for that character and will not reset.
Rift Fissure and Ru Ruins: Level, Boss and Reward Comparison
Ru Ruins opens only after you finish the Rift Fissure, a sealed dungeon in Altgard that is recommended for level 30. It sits between the level-25 instances and the level-45 Ruins of the Ancient City of Ru. Both pay out on the Asmodian side as follows.
| Entry | Rift Fissure | Ruins of the Ancient City of Ru |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended level | 30 | 45 |
| Bosses | — | Power-Possessed Kianah, Obsessive Lithla, Idris (all level 45) |
| Time limit | — | 15 minutes |
| Title | Hazy Apparition | Through Hell and Back |
| Kina | 15,000 | 15,000 |
| Sealed Wing Featherdown (Bound) | 2 | 20 |
| Statue Scrap: Night Illusion Wings (Bound) | 2 | 20 |
| Daevanion Crystal (Bound) | 2 | 2 |
| Wisdom Stone (Bound) | 2 | 2 |
| Enhance Stone | 1,250 | 1,250 |
Ru Ruins pays ten times the Sealed Wing Featherdown and Night Illusion Wings statue scraps of a standard Sealed Dungeon, which makes it the most valuable clear in this stretch of Altgard. You have 15 minutes to take down all three bosses.
Elyos characters get a different package for the same dungeon: 15,000 Kina, 1,000 Abyss Points and 2,500 Enhance Stone.
An Exploration quest named Ruins of the Ancient City of Ru is available to both factions. It starts automatically, unlocks at level 1, and completes when you clear the dungeon of the same name.
