The Intermediate Manastone is the mid-tier engraving stone in AION 2. You slot it into the Manastone sockets on weapons and armor, and it rolls one random combat stat per slot. It sits a step above the Lesser Manastone and feeds the recipe for the Superior Manastone, which makes it the stone most players pass through while gearing up before endgame.

What the Intermediate Manastone does
The Intermediate Manastone adds stats when engraved into Manastone slots on weapons or armor. Its bonus isn’t predetermined: engraving randomly chooses both the stat and its value, so each use is a roll. Accessories take Soulstones instead, meaning this stone works only on weapons and armor.
Engraving gear fills every vacant Manastone slot at once. Slot count rises with rarity: one on Common gear, two on Rare, three on Epic, and four on Unique. You can reroll results you don’t want, but that replaces the existing lines; you can’t lock in a good one, so the gear’s slots are rolled as a set.
Intermediate Manastone stat pool and roll odds
Each engrave works in two steps. The stone first picks which stat you get, then picks a value tier for it. There are nine possible stats. The seven core stats each have a 10 percent chance to be selected, while HP and MP sit higher at 15 percent each.

Once a stat is picked, the value lands on the Basic tier 50 percent of the time, the Superior tier 35 percent, and the Ultimate tier 15 percent. Multiplying the two steps gives the real odds. A top-tier Attack roll of +8, for example, works out to 1.5 percent per engrave, since it needs both the 10 percent stat pick and the 15 percent Ultimate tier. HP and MP are the easiest stats to land because of their higher pick weight.
How to craft the Intermediate Manastone
Crafting through Alchemy is the only way to get the tradable Intermediate Manastone, and both the Elyos and Asmodian paths use it. There are two recipes. The first unlocks at Alchemy mastery 20, and a bulk version at mastery 40 uses ten times the materials. Both carry a base success rate of 72.9 percent with a 20 percent combo chance, so an engrave stone can still fail at the table.

The stone is also a crafting ingredient itself. Thirty Intermediate Manastones plus Spiritstone Powder x10 and Exceptional Ink (Bound) x2 craft one Superior Manastone at Alchemy mastery 85. Lesser Manastones, the base input here, drop from a wide range of field monsters, so stockpiling them early keeps the chain moving.
Other ways to get the Intermediate Manastone (Bound)
A separate bound version exists with the same name and the same stat pool. It cannot be traded and does not come from crafting. Instead, it drops from dungeon bosses, opens from chests, and pays out from achievements.
Dungeon boss drops
The bound stone drops in Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis on their higher boss tiers (levels 64 and 68). The two lead bosses drop it at a higher rate than the others.

Reward chests
It can come from either of two chests. The Ascension Binding Chest (Bound) has a set chance to award a Manastone or Soulstone, and can also drop an Intermediate Manastone or Intermediate Soulstone. The other option is the Growth Manastone Chest (Bound).
Achievement rewards
The Filled with Manastone achievement line pays bound stones for binding Manastones and Soulstones to your gear. Hitting 60 binds awards two Intermediate Manastones with Kina x5,000, and 100 binds awards three with Kina x7,000.

Manastone engraving stats remain on the original item instead of moving with it through normal Gear Transfer. Use your best stones on gear you intend to keep, not on leveling pieces you’ll replace.
