Install window versus go-live
There are two separate times to track. The Season 5 patch, update 2.1.1.0, becomes available to download at 08:00 UTC, four hours before the content unlocks. Starting the download in that window means the files are in place when servers flip over.
All seasonal content, including the new maps, modes, and battle pass, becomes playable at 12:00 UTC, the regional times listed above. You will know the season is live when the new maps appear in the mode select screens and the Season 5 battle pass is selectable from the progression menu.
If you launch the game before 08:00 UTC, the update will not be offered yet. Check again from that time to pre-load ahead of the 12:00 UTC start.
What launches at go-live
Season 5 runs across three phases spread through the holiday period, and it is the largest seasonal drop so far. The October 13 launch opens the first wave of content.
- The Area 51 map and the Las Vegas strip setting
- Rapid Royale in REDSEC, with solos and trios on a smaller Vegas map and faster redeploy timers
- A Dead Space crossover limited-time event, a PVE experience built around a corrupting artifact for Halloween
- Ranked Battle Royale and the new Open Series Competition
- A new free battle pass alongside a paid Pro tier with premium cosmetics
Later phases add map reworks for Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, platoons, and a server browser. Across the full season there are three maps, six weapons, and two vehicles.
Phase schedule and new weapons
The season releases in three phases, each bringing its own additions. Casino Heist follows the launch on November 10, and Frozen Aces arrives on December 8.
| Phase | Date | New gear |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 (launch) | October 13 | Z84M LMG, RSPR SMG, ELR-40 Sniper Rifle, MK24 Assault Rifle |
| Phase 2 (Casino Heist) | November 10 | NSW4 Carbine, ADS-17 6GHZ gadget |
| Phase 3 (Frozen Aces) | December 8 | MK 1 MOD 0 Designated Marksman Rifle, Karambit melee |
As the final season of 2026, Season 5 is expected to run into January 2027 before Season 6 begins.
