Forza Horizon 6 Barn Finds: All 15 Locations and Unlock Ranks

Raise your Discover Japan rank to make each barn appear, then drive to all 15 across Japan.

Raise your Discover Japan rank to make each barn appear, then drive to all 15 across Japan.

Fifteen classic cars sit hidden inside run-down barns scattered across Japan in Forza Horizon 6, and collecting every one of them fills your garage with rare vehicles at no cost. The catch is that the barns do not show up on your map until you progress far enough in the Discover Japan ranking. Driving to a barn’s spot early gets you nothing, so the rank comes first and the location second.

Quick answer: Raise your Discover Japan rank in the Collector’s Journal to make each barn appear on the map, then drive into the search zone for that car and follow the dirt track to the barn.

How Barn Finds unlock in Forza Horizon 6

Barn Finds are tied to the Discover Japan progress track, not to free exploration. Open the campaign menu, go to the Collector’s Journal, and check your Discover Japan status. The track has seven ranks, and barns appear as you climb them, usually two at a time. The ranks from lowest to highest are Visitor, Tourist, Traveller, Pathfinder, Navigator, Adventurer, and Master Explorer.

Story missions marked with yellow map markers give the most progress toward each rank. Touge and road races, destroying regional mascots, food delivery rank-ups, house purchases, and uncovering new regions all add points too. You do not need to finish everything. There are far more activities available than the amount needed to reach the final rank.

Tip: Once you discover a barn, the car goes into restoration and is not drivable right away. You can pay credits to finish the repair instantly, but it usually is not worth it. Keep racing and driving, and the restoration completes on its own.

Barn Find locations by rank

Visitor: Honda NSX-R GT (2005)

The first barn opens shortly after you start the game, in the Ohtani region. Head into the dense forest and follow the winding gravel track to the west of the search zone, then take the small path near the Kinkaku-Ji temple. The entrance is easy to miss, so watch the treeline closely.

Tourist: Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 (1987) and Toyota 2000GT (1969)

Both Tourist barns sit in the Ito region. The Sierra Cosworth RS500 is in the south, on a small wooded hill just south of the junction at the edge of the search zone, and you can almost spot the barn from the road.

The Toyota 2000GT is in the north of Ito, near the Minka House. Look in a small cluster of trees on the south-eastern edge of the search zone, between two paths that lead down to the beach. A nearby treasure car sits right on the path to the north if you want to grab it along the way.

Traveller: Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (1971) and Nissan PAO (1989)

The Skyline 2000GT-R hides in the Nangan region, in the far south of its search zone. Behind the houses along the main road, a dirt track branches off and runs straight to the barn.

The Nissan PAO is in the Minamino region, at the north-eastern edge of the search zone. Follow a dirt track off the main road, and you will reach the barn at the end of the path in the forest.

Pathfinder: four barns at once

Pathfinder opens the most barns in one step, with four cars becoming available together. The Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R is in the Takashiro region, on the eastern edge of the search zone, in the forest inside a U-shaped section of road. A treasure car sits nearby by the waterfall.

The Lincoln Continental is in the Hokubu region, in the trees next to the colorful flower fields just south of the centre of the search zone, and it is easy to spot. The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 is in the north-east corner of the Shimanoyama search zone. Follow the wide dirt track up the short hill, and the barn is visible almost from the main road.

The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 sits in the Ohtani and Tokyo City area, in the bamboo forest beside the dirt track between the two main roads heading toward Mei’s house, on the north side of the search zone.

The Lamborghini Diablo SV is in the Ito region, and the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution is in the Shimanoyama region. Both appear once you reach Navigator rank, so drive into each search zone and look for the dirt track that leads off the main road toward the barn.

Adventurer: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Time Attack (2005) and Nissan R390 GT1 (1998)

The Mitsubishi #1 Sierra Lancer Evolution Time Attack is in the Shimanoyama region, and the Nissan R390 GT1 is in the Ohtani region. Both unlock at Adventurer rank.

Master Explorer: Mazda 787B (1991) and Nissan Tomica Skyline Turbo (1983)

The final two barns require the top Discover Japan rank. The Mazda #55 787B is in the Takashiro region, and the Nissan #11 Tomica Skyline Turbo Super Silhouette is in the Ito region. Reaching Master Explorer makes both appear so you can complete the full set.

How to confirm a Barn Find is unlocked

A barn is ready to collect only when its icon shows on the map after a rank increase. When you reach the spot, a narrow dirt track almost always leads to the barn itself, and approaching it triggers the discovery. After that, the car enters restoration and is added to your garage once the repair finishes.

If a barn refuses to appear, the cause is almost always rank. Check the Discover Japan track in the Collector’s Journal and confirm you have reached the rank listed for that car. Keep completing yellow-marker story missions to climb faster, and the remaining barns will surface as you advance toward Master Explorer.
