The Apex Legends Battle Pass is releasing today on all platforms. And with all the glorious things it brings, there’s a new legend ‘Octane’ also launching today alongside the Battle Pass. However, don’t mistake Octane as a reward for the Battle Pass or the Season 1. Octane’s launch in Apex Legends has nothing to do with the Battle Pass or the Season 1. Unlocking a legend is still a separate business in the game. You either need 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins to unlock Octane.

Apex Legends Battle Pass is being offered in two packs, the regular Battle Pass and the Battle Pass Bundle. But buying a Battle Pass won’t unlock Octane for you. A legend can be unlocked for free using Legend Tokens that you get by earning XP in the game, or by using the in-game currency “Apex Coins” which can be acquired by paying real money through the in-game store.

How to Unlock Octane in Apex Legends

  1. Make sure you’ve 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins in the game.
  2. Go to the Legends tab from the main menu.
  3. Select Octane from the list of legends.
  4. Hit the Unlock Legend button and chose your unlock method.
