Triple Take, Bocek Compound Bow, and Charge Rifle all get buffs, plus a cheaper Executioner hop-up.

Triple Take, Bocek Compound Bow, and Charge Rifle all get buffs, plus a cheaper Executioner hop-up.

The second half of Apex Legends: Marked keeps the weapon tuning light on purpose. Rather than another meta reshuffle, Split 2 lifts a small group of long-range guns that had been sliding down the pecking order, and makes one shotgun hop-up easier to unlock. The changes went live on September 15th.

Quick answer: Split 2 buffs the Triple Take, Bocek Compound Bow, and Charge Rifle, and drops the Executioner hop-up unlock cost from 375 to 275 points.

Why these guns got touched

Season 30 already scrambled the gun meta at launch with Corrupted Attachments, the Energy Weapon rework, and nerfs to staples like the R-99, Alternator, RE-45, and Hemlok. The balance team is holding off on big swings while that settles. Instead, the focus is on a few weapons that were underperforming before the season and kept sliding afterward, nudging them back toward the rest of their class.

WeaponWhat changed

Triple Take

The Triple Take gets two quality-of-life boosts aimed at making it snappier in a fight. It now fires faster while aiming down sights, so follow-up shots come out quicker when you commit to a scope. The blue-tier magazine also holds one more round.

  • Increased rate of fire while aiming down sights.
  • Blue magazine size raised from 8 to 9.

Bocek Compound Bow

The Bocek is the biggest winner here, mostly on ammo economy. You can now stockpile far more arrows and get more explosive arrows out of each energize, which keeps the bow useful across a longer fight instead of running dry. The Sparrow’s Quiver hop-up scales up alongside the base weapon.

Charge Rifle

The Charge Rifle’s buffs target its long-range identity. Its maximum-distance damage now reaches farther, full damage lands at extreme range, and the penalty for using selectfire is much smaller. Together these make the sniper more rewarding to hold and more likely to see play.

  • Max distance damage raised from 99 to 110 meters.
  • Max damage now occurs at over 200 meters.
  • Selectfire damage penalty cut from 40% to 25%.

Executioner hop-up unlock cost

Locked hop-ups can be tricky to fill on heavy-hitting shotguns, since their damage swings between big chunks and lots of low rolls, making the progress bar slower than on a full-auto gun. To offset that, the Executioner, the shotgun hop-up shared by the Peacekeeper and Mastiff, is cheaper to unlock.

  • Unlock cost reduced from 375 points to 275 points.

None of these tweaks rewrite the meta on their own, but each one pushes an underused weapon closer to being a real pick. Expect the Charge Rifle in particular to show up more often on open, long-sightline maps now that its damage holds at range.
