With the release of Apex Legends Season 1 Wild Frontier update, Octane is now available as an unlockable legend in the game. According to Respawn, Octane is a High-speed daredevil who loves to dive, leap, plummet, and race. He is the life of the party.

Octane Abilities — Launch Pad, Stim, and Swift Mend

  • Ultimate ability – Launch Pad: Octane can deploy launch pads as his ultimate ability. Much like Pathfinder could deploy long distance zip lines. The launch pads can be used to take high-ground jumps. It can be used by everyone in the game, including your enemies. Once deployed, Octane’s launch pads will remain available throughout the game.
  • Tactical ability – Stim: Octane’s tactical ability is a speed enhancement drug that lets him move 30% faster for 6 seconds at the cost of some health. Interestingly, the cooldown for Octane’s tactical ability is only 2 seconds.
  • Passive ability – Swift Mend: If Octane’s tactical ability is designed to consume health, it’s only obvious that the legend’s passive ability is something that could restore health. The legend can restore 1 health every 2 seconds when not taking damage. Pretty insane passive ability.

How to Unlock Octane in Apex Legends

To unlock Octane in Apex Legends, you will need either 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins. The legend tokens can be earned by playing standard matches in the game. The more XP you earn in a game, the more legend tokens you get.

Every unlockable legend in Apex Legends costs 12,000 Legend Tokens. Once you’ve earned enough tokens to unlock Octane, head over to the Legends section from the main menu, select Octane, and hit the Unlock legend button in the bottom right.
