Apple News+ subscribers in the U.S. can now challenge their minds with daily Sudoku puzzles starting with the release of iOS 18.2, available as a developer beta.

The Sudoku game offers three difficulty levels—easy, moderate, and challenging—allowing users to test their skills and track their progress with a dedicated scoreboard within the Apple News app. This scoreboard will showcase stats such as the total number of puzzles solved and fastest completion times for each difficulty level.

The addition of Sudoku marks the fourth puzzle game offered within an Apple News+ subscription, joining the ranks of Crossword, Crossword Mini, and Quartiles, which was introduced with iOS 17.5. These digital puzzles are currently exclusive to Apple News+ subscribers located in the U.S. and Canada.

Apple News+ is available for $12.99 per month and is also included in the Apple One Premier bundle. This bundle offers a suite of services, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, and iCloud+ with 2TB of storage, for $37.95 per month.

While the first iOS 18.2 beta, released this week, is currently available for devices supporting Apple Intelligence—like iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPhone 16 models—the update is expected to become publicly available in December.

iOS 18.2 will also bring additional Apple Intelligence features, including Image Playground and Genmoji.
