We all love customization, especially on our digital devices. Every online platform, ranging from Email, cloud storage, social media, to even streaming platforms are racing towards providing a more tailor-made experience enabled through more customization options.
Recently, even web browsers joined the bandwagon of customization; Not a feature everyone was eagerly waiting for, but more of a nice-to-have feature. Well, if you have always been waiting to customize your Chrome just the way you like it. This is definitely worth a read for you!
Change New Tab Background
First, launch the Chrome on your Windows or macOS device and sign in to your account to have the changes sync across all your devices, you use Chrome.
Next, click on ‘Customise Chrome’ button from bottom right corner of the screen.
After that, you can choose any collection to browse any pictures from or you can upload a picture from your local storage as well.
Note: Your selected photo from local storage will not require your confirmation to apply changes.
Click on the picture thumbnail you want to set as your tab background. You can also refresh the pictures daily automatically by toggling the ‘Refresh daily’ button.
Once, you have made the desired changes, click on the ‘Done’ button to confirm the changes.
Play with Colors
Colors can represent moods, feelings, or as they millennials say it ‘their vibe’. Well, Google has whole lot of options for colors, if that’s your thing.
Now, click on ‘Customise Chrome’ button from bottom right corner of the screen.
Then, click on the ‘Color and theme’ option from the left section of the pane.
After that choose the desired color palette and click on the ‘Done’ button to confirm the changes.
If in the case you are not content with the color pre-sets Google has to offer, you can also pick your color using the color mixer by clicking on the ‘Color Picker’ icon. Click on the ‘RGB’ option to switch to ‘HSL’ or ‘HEX’ code mode.
Once, you have made the desired changes, click on the ‘Done’ button to confirm the changes.
One-Click Access with Shortcuts
Chrome has website shortcuts for forever, though there are some more tricks left on Google’s sleeve.
First, click on ‘Customise Chrome’ button from bottom right corner of the screen.
Next, choose the ‘Shortcuts’ option from the left section of the pane.
Now, if you want to have shortcuts curated based on your frequently visited websites, click on ‘Most-visited sites’ option. If you want to see shortcuts only added by you, choose ‘My shortcuts’ option.
In the case, you don’t want to see any website shortcuts, toggle the ‘Hide shortcuts’ feature from the bottom section of the pane and click ‘Done’ to confirm changes.
