Dark Mode has become a vital part of the technological experience these days. It has got some real aesthetic values, but more important than that, it has great practical usage. Dark Mode reduces the strain on your eyes that white light from the screens can cause at late hours when the light is low. It also prevents disturbances to your sleep cycle that staring at a white screen after sunset can cause.

Almost all the mainstream Operating Systems have added the feature to their devices. But the presence of this feature in the OS alone cannot provide an optimum experience to the users.

The implementation of Dark Mode needs to be done at the individual app/ website level. Without that, there are only so many apps or sites you can enjoy it. Google is rapidly adding more and more of its services that offer Dark Mode so their users can benefit. Google Chat is the latest addition to that roster.
