Clubhouse, an audio-only platform, is a great place to interact with people having similar interests. Multiple rooms are being hosted at any given time and a user can join one to interact with other participants. Moreover, there are millions of users on the platform you can connect with.

When setting up the app, you are asked to select your interests from a list of options. Based on your interests, Clubhouse recommends users for you to follow. Many a time, you may end up following a lot of users out of excitement and want to unfollow them at a later point. Furthermore, you may want to follow more users once you have set up your profile.

Following an Unfollowing Someone on Clubhouse

We will divide the articles into two subheadings, following a user and unfollowing a user.

Following Another User

You can follow a user by finding them using the search tool or follow someone interacting in the same room as you.

Using Search Tool

Open the Clubhouse app and tap on the search icon at the top-left corner. The search icon resembles a magnifying glass which is the conventional symbol.

Tap on the text box at the top to search for other users to follow.

Now enter the name of the user you want to search for and then tap on the name. Make sure the search is set to people, in case it is not, tap on ‘People’ just under the text box.

After you tap on the name of the user, their profile opens up. Now, tap on the ‘Follow’ icon near the top-right corner.

The color of the ‘Follow’ icon changes from grey to blue once you start following a user. Moreover, it now reads ‘Following’ instead of ‘Follow’.

Following a User in a Room

If you want to follow a user in a room, just tap on their picture to open their profile.

Now, tap on the ‘Follow’ icon at the top-right corner of the screen.

You can follow as many users as you want but do keep in mind that following a lot of people is not actually the concept of Clubhouse. It’s to help people learn and interact.

Unfollowing a User

Unfollowing someone on Clubhouse is as simple as following them and could be done in a couple of clicks.

To unfollow someone, tap on your profile photo at the top-right corner of the Hallway screen.

Now, tap on the ‘Following’ section where it mentions the number of people you are following.

Tap on the ‘Following’ icon right next to the name of the user you want to unfollow.

Once you unfollow someone, the text in the icon changes from ‘Following’ to ‘Follow’ and the color changes as well.
