If you use multiple Apple devices, chances are you use the same Apple ID on all of them. So if you own both an iPhone and an iPad and are using them with the same Apple ID, you will receive iMessages on both of them. But sometimes that’s not something you want. Maybe you share your iPad with a family member, or perhaps you have some other reason. Whatever may be the reason, the fact remains the same.
You don’t want to receive iMessages on your iPad, just your iPhone would do. So does that mean you would have to use a different Apple ID on both the devices? “But, what about my purchases? I don’t want to purchase an app multiple times. What do I do?” Well, fortunately, it doesn’t mean that. You can just turn off iMessage for your iPad. Here’s how you can disable them.
Open Settings on the iPad and go to Messages.
Now, turn off the toggle for iMessage. And there you go. iMessages are now disabled for your iPad and you won’t receive them on it anymore.
🍻 Cheers!
