Keep the Door Locked: The Black Carabao — End Time, Countdown

The Black Carabao, a major content update for Keep the Door Locked, is live now and scheduled to run through August 21. The developer labels it “V2,” and it is the biggest addition to the horror game since its late-July launch, headlined by a new Bloodmoon Mode and a run of fresh encounters and side events. There is about a week left in the window.
Keep the Door Locked, from Hotel Room Services, has grown quickly: it has passed about 40,000,000 total visits and about 250,000 favorites, with about about 13,000 players in rooms while the update is running. The Black Carabao has drawn strong interest, with the going tally in the hundreds of thousands.

What’s in the update
Subtitled “Starving Faith,” the update centers on a new mode and a batch of new anomalies rather than a single scripted event. The main additions:
- Bloodmoon Mode — a separate mode with its own atmosphere, dialogue, matchmaking and rewards.
- The Wendigo and Nun Ritual events — two new in-round events that can appear during a session.
- Jade — a new Weeping Angel–style encounter.
- John Pork and Shawarma — two new additions to the roster.
- Fake Friend Join, new phone calls, and Secrets Anomalies for players chasing the game’s hidden content.
- Four new achievements, plus a new Hard achievement tier for anyone who has already cleared the existing ones.
When it runs
The Black Carabao opened on August 14 at 11:00 AM ET and closes on August 21 at 3:00 PM ET. That gives a full week to work through the new mode and events, and there is time left as of August 23, so there is no pressure to clear everything in one sitting.
How it fits the game’s schedule
Keep the Door Locked has settled into a roughly weekly cadence of timed events. Insects Invasion ran through mid-August, and The Black Carabao picked up from there. It also hands off cleanly: the next event, Answered Prayer, is set to begin on August 21 — the same day this window closes — and run through August 28. If you are chasing the new Hard achievements, that back-to-back scheduling is worth planning around, since servers tend to be busiest in the opening days of each event.
