MTG Arena Codes (May 2026)

MTG Arena is Wizards of the Coast's free-to-play digital version of Magic: The Gathering, letting players build decks, compete in matches, and collect cards across hundreds of sets. Promo codes have historically offered a quick way to grab free booster packs, card sleeves, XP boosts, and other cosmetics without spending a gem.

Working MTG Arena codes

There are currently no active promo codes available for MTG Arena. Wizards of the Coast has not released any new codes at this time. Check back here when new sets or promotions are announced, as codes tend to surface around major releases and occasionally as compensation for technical issues.

Free booster packs via the in-game inbox

Even without active codes, every MTG Arena account has access to a large stack of free booster packs delivered directly to the in-game inbox. These do not require a code — they arrive automatically when you log in. New players who complete the tutorial also receive a selection of pre-constructed decks and variant land cards.

The full inbox reward list currently includes three packs each from the following sets:

Secrets of Strixhaven, Lorwyn: Eclipsed, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Through the Omenpaths, Edge of Eternities, Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy, Alchemy: Tarkir, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Alchemy: Aetherdrift, Aetherdrift, MTG Foundations, Alchemy: Duskmourn, Duskmourn, Bloomburrow, Alchemy: Bloomburrow, Modern Horizons 3, Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Alchemy: Ixalan, Murders at Karlov Manor, Alchemy: Karlov Manor, Shadows Over Innistrad Remastered, Phyrexia: All Will Be One, Alchemy: Phyrexia, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Alchemy: Thunder Junction, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, Wilds of Eldraine, Alchemy: Eldraine, Khans of Tarkir, March of the Machine, and March of the Machine: The Aftermath. The inbox also contains six packs of Alchemy: Brothers War and one Basic Wastes land card from Explorer Anthology 2.

Note: If you are a new player, open your inbox packs only after you have claimed all the New Player Experience decks. Cards already in your collection from those decks will not generate duplicate copies, so claiming decks first avoids wasting pack pulls.

How to redeem MTG Arena codes on PC

Step 1: Launch MTG Arena on your PC or Mac and navigate to the Store tab at the top of the screen.

Step 2: Locate the oval "Redeem Code" text box in the top-right corner of the Store page.

Step 3: Type or paste your code into the box and press Enter. Codes are case-sensitive, so match the capitalisation exactly. Your reward will appear in your account immediately.

How to redeem codes on mobile

The iOS and Android versions of MTG Arena do not support direct code entry within the app. To redeem a code on mobile, open a browser and sign in at myaccounts.wizards.com. Scroll down to the "Redeem a Code" box on your account dashboard, enter the code, and tap Redeem. A green confirmation message confirms the reward has been applied to your account.

Unique codes from physical products

Some physical MTG products include single-use codes that unlock Arena content. These are tied to the specific product and can only be redeemed once per account.

Planeswalker decks. Physical Planeswalker decks released between Guilds of Ravnica (2018) and Core Set 2021 came with codes to unlock the corresponding deck in Arena. The following decks may still carry functional codes if purchased unopened: Ashiok, Shaper of Fears; Basri, Devoted Paladin; Chandra, Flame's Catalyst; Elspeth, Undaunted Hero; Liliana, Death Mage; Oko, The Trickster; Rowan, Fearless Sparkmage; Teferi, Timeless Voyager.

Starter kits. The following starter kits include a code that unlocks both pre-constructed decks in Arena: Bloomburrow Starter Kit, Wilds of Eldraine Starter Kit, Lord of the Rings Starter Kit, Starter Kit 2023, Starter Kit 2022, Starter Kit 2021, and Core Set Starter Kit 2021. Second-hand copies may have already had their code redeemed, so buying new is advisable.

Prerelease kits. Since 2025, prerelease kits no longer include a printed code in the box. Instead, registering your Arena account at the in-store prerelease event causes the free boosters to appear in your account automatically on next login. Older prerelease kits — including those for Murders at Karlov Manor, Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Kaldheim, Ikoria, and Zendikar Rising — still contain valid printed codes for six Arena boosters of the corresponding set, provided the code has not been used.

Secret Lair drops. Select Secret Lair boxed sets include codes that unlock exclusive card sleeves or other cosmetics in Arena. Rewards vary by product, and availability depends on finding sealed copies with intact codes.

Where to find new codes

The most reliable sources for new MTG Arena codes are the official MTG Arena newsletter and the MTG Arena Twitter account. Wizards occasionally releases compensation codes through Twitter after technical difficulties — these codes tend to expire quickly, so checking promptly matters. New set launches are the most common trigger for fresh codes, so watching for announcements around each MTG release is worthwhile.
