The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin ranks characters by weapon spec rather than by name, so a single hero can sit in two or three different tiers depending on what they hold. As of Version 1.3, the strongest combinations belong to Meliodas, Diane, Mannie, Elaine, and the newest additions Clotho, Escanor, and Daisy.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin tier list (June 2026)
Characters are placed by their best-performing weapon spec. Within a single tier, units are considered roughly equal. The same hero appears more than once because each weapon changes their element, role, and skill kit.
| Tier | Characters (by weapon) |
|---|---|
| SS | Meliodas (Dual Swords), Meliodas (Longsword), Meliodas (Axe), Jericho (Dual Swords), Diane (Gauntlets), Diane (Axe), Mannie (Staff), Elaine (Staff), Escanor (Axe), Clotho (Rapier) |
| S | Clotho (Staff), Clotho (Grimoire), Tristan (Longsword), Tristan (Dual Swords), Escanor (Greatsword), Escanor (Sword and Shield), Elaine (Wand), Elaine (Grimoire), King (Staff), King (Grimoire), King (Wand), Daisy (Grimoire), Daisy (Wand), Jericho (Lance), Drake (Greatsword), Guila (Sword and Shield), Guila (Rapier), Hendrickson (Longsword), Mannie (Longsword), Howzer (Gauntlets) |
| A | Tioreh (Staff), Jericho (Rapier), Gilthunder (Longsword), Diane (Nunchaku), Daisy (Sword and Shield), Drake (Longsword), Drake (Staff), Mannie (Dual Swords), Guila (Lance), Slater (Axe), Slater (Nunchaku), Bug (Grimoire), Howzer (Nunchaku) |
| B | Tristan (Greatsword), Tioreh (Wand), Gilthunder (Sword and Shield), Slater (Greatsword), Bug (Axe), Bug (Dual Swords), Griamore (Sword and Shield), Dreyfus (Longsword), Hendrickson (Lance), Howzer (Lance), Dredrin (Rapier) |
| C | Tioreh (Grimoire), Gilthunder (Lance), Griamore (Gauntlets), Griamore (Nunchaku), Hendrickson (Dual Swords), Dreyfus (Rapier), Dreyfus (Lance), Dredrin (Sword and Shield), Dredrin (Axe) |
These rankings weigh both raw damage and team utility across exploration and high-level dungeon clearing. A character placed lower in one weapon can still be excellent in another, so check every spec before writing anyone off.
How the weapon system changes a character's tier
Each hero can slot up to three weapons, and the active weapon decides their element, ultimate, and whether they play as a damage dealer, tank, or support. That is why someone like Diane lands in SS with Gauntlets or Axe but drops to A with Nunchaku. Your power comes from the team of four acting as one, not from any single unit in isolation.
The primary weapon supplies 100% of its base stats, so it should match the role you want. Sub-weapons contribute about 30% of their stats once enhanced, and pushing them to at least level 50 noticeably raises a character's total power. Potential points unlock extra skill options at levels 5, 7, and 10, which often fill a gap in the kit such as added mana regeneration or lifesteal.
Best characters to prioritize right now
A few units stand out as safe, long-term investments because they fit almost any composition.
Meliodas ignores the game's Elemental Burst race entirely. His Darkness corruption mechanic supplies all the damage he needs, and he has the best scaling in the roster. Dual Swords give him lifesteal that carries early stages, while Longsword is the highest-output boss-killer spec for the late game.
Diane is the most versatile pick. Gauntlets make her a near-unkillable tank that scales damage off Defense, Axe turns her into a high-damage Earth DPS with stun utility, and Nunchaku adds support flexibility.
Mannie is the strongest support available. Her Staff spec buffs team crit rate, applies resistance reduction, and restores magic points, and she pairs especially well with Meliodas to push both into top-tier territory.
Elaine covers support and damage. The Staff spec delivers continuous AoE that lowers enemy burst resistance and boosts ally burst, while the Wand spec scales hard into crit-based DPS.
King rounds out the support options, with the Grimoire applying Mark of the Forest to raise team damage by up to 20% and an ultimate that grants shields and healing.
New characters: Clotho, Escanor, and Daisy
Version 1.3 added Clotho and Escanor near the top of the meta, while Daisy arrived as a flexible support a little earlier.
Clotho debuts as SS with the Rapier and stays strong across Staff and Grimoire, making her a high-value pull. Escanor reaches SS with the Axe, a single-target nuke whose damage climbs over a long fight, and remains S-tier on Greatsword and Sword and Shield.
Daisy is built around CRIT support. Her Grimoire boosts CRIT Chance and CRIT DMG and fits a wide range of teams, which is her recommended playstyle. With Sword and Shield she can swing between tank and DPS depending on whether she is in her normal state or riding her bear, and the Wand applies a Wind Resistance debuff.
Rerolling for a top-tier start
If your opening pulls miss the units you want, you can reroll by creating a fresh profile each time.
Step 1: Create a new account and play until the gacha system unlocks.
Step 2: Spend your starter currency on the available banners.
Step 3: If the results disappoint, repeat the process with a new account. If you land an SS-tier unit you are happy with, keep the account and continue your run through Britannia.
You can grab the game on the App Store or on Google Play to start rolling.
Tier placements shift as new characters and balance changes arrive, so treat the list as the current snapshot and lean on the weapon notes when you decide who to build. The standouts above hold their value through patches, which makes them the smartest first investments while you settle on a team of four.
