The early access action RPG’s largest chapter adds a new open-world region, a level cap of 55, and a first loot filter.

Titan Quest 2’s fourth chapter, Wild Lands, is out now for the early access action RPG on PC. Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic call it the biggest update so far, built around a sprawling open-world region split into multiple biomes, a higher level cap, and a long list of new quests, enemies, and quality-of-life changes.

Quick answer: The update is live on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. To enter Wild Lands in your existing save, follow the quest that appears at the end of Chapter 3.

How to access the Wild Lands chapter

Wild Lands is the fourth story chapter in the campaign that pits your hero against Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution. Once you finish Chapter 3, a new quest points you toward the wilds, far from human settlements, where even the centaurs avoid straying too far from their Sanctuary.

The game remains in early access on PC. THQ Nordic and Grimlore expect it to stay in early access for at least a full year, with a planned 1.0 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can pick it up on Steam or the Epic Games Store.

New quests, dungeons, and the open-world region

Wild Lands is the largest chapter to date, leaning harder into open-world freedom while keeping Grimlore’s hand-crafted maps. Your goal is to find and free Chiron as the conflict between the centaur factions comes to a head. Along the way you uncover the secret of the First Boarman in a buried city, push into a large Temple of Nemesis, and reckon with the King of the Centaurs.

The region spans deep canyons, arid dunes, crimson sands, dense forests, a lush oasis, and a decaying poisonous swamp. Points of interest include centaur warcamps, the ruins of Ixion’s old empire, archives from the era of the Titans, an overgrown necropolis, and a vast buried city, plus new environmental critters to make the world feel more lived-in.

New enemies, bosses, and hero monsters

Existing factions get reinforcements, and the chapter adds fresh boss fights. One of the three new bosses is described as a fan-favorite mythological character. Ten new mini-bosses appear during quests, each with their own abilities.

Faction or typeAdditions
Boarmen5 new enemies, including the Warlord, Firemancer, and Juggler
Centaurs3 new enemies, including the Flame Caller and the Charger
Nemesis CultistsNew sub-faction of humanoids with new enemy types
Wildlife4 new creatures, including the Alpha Wolf
Bosses3 new full bosses
Mini-bosses10 new
Hero monsters4 named champions

Hero monsters are a first, limited version of a named-champion system. These are named creatures inside existing factions that carry dedicated abilities and can show up randomly in certain encounters. Examples include Frostsilk, a giant spider whose frozen web lets her spit icicles, and the Dung Thrower, a Boarman with one very specific talent. Grimlore plans to expand the system to every chapter and most encounters in later updates.

Level cap 55, Tier 5 passives, and new items

To keep existing characters progressing, the maximum player level is now 55, which also means higher-level items can drop from matching enemies. The fifth and final tier of passives is unlocked, giving each Mastery five new passive abilities. Several of these can reduce enemy resistances, which Grimlore says will matter once higher difficulty challenges arrive.

  • One new Charm and four new Relics, including Fury of Skylla, Judgement of Minos, Herakle’s Might, and Shade of Hector.
  • Charms and Relics now drop in addition to normal item drops, so they no longer take a slot from other loot.
  • Bosses have a much higher chance to drop Epic items on a first kill, with an increased Epic chance on repeat kills.

Loot filter, junk selling, chat, and UI changes

The update introduces a first, basic loot filter that lets you hide items by rarity. Grimlore is clear that this is an early version meant to give players something simple to start with, and a more detailed version is planned for future updates.

  • You can mark items as Junk or Favorite. Junk items are all sold at once when you visit a vendor, and Favorite items cannot be sold.
  • Selling an item with a socketed charm or relic now automatically unsockets it and sells only the base item.
  • Text chat is added for multiplayer.
  • Enemy telegraphs are reworked to better show when an attack will land, and all item icons and tooltips have been redrawn.
  • Russian and Ukrainian language support is added in a first version.

Titan Quest 2 normally runs $39.99 / €39.99, but a 30% discount on Steam runs through Thursday, June 25, which brings it to roughly $24.49 / £20.65. Grimlore is building the game toward a complete experience at 1.0 rather than a rotating series of seasonal updates, and the team has said the entry price will rise as more content lands, so buying in now also locks in the lower cost.
