100 Days at Sea: Every Class, Cost, and Starter Item Explained

A complete breakdown of every class you can buy with Pearls, including starting gear, buffs, and level-up rewards.

A complete breakdown of every class you can buy with Pearls, including starting gear, buffs, and level-up rewards.

Classes in 100 Days at Sea are permanent loadouts you buy with Pearls, and each one hands you a stat boost plus a starting item the moment a run begins. There are no downsides to equipping one, so any class you own is better than sailing off with nothing. Every class also levels up, unlocking extra perks as you keep playing it.

Quick answer: Buy classes from the Class Shop in the lobby using Pearls. Prices run from 50 Pearls up to 750 Pearls. You can only equip one class per run, and you cannot switch mid-run.

How classes work in 100 Days at Sea

You pick one class before a run starts, and it stays locked for the rest of that session. All classes grant passive bonuses like extra health, faster sprinting, or a weapon in your hands from day one. Since none of them carry a penalty, the only real decision is which buff fits how you play.

Multiple players in the same lobby can run the same class, so there is no competition over roles. If you are playing with friends, though, spreading out combat, healing, and economy picks avoids doubling up on the same starter gear.

The table below lists each class in order of Pearl cost, along with what you start with and the rewards you earn as the class levels up. Cheaper picks help with early survival, while the 750-Pearl classes lean heavily into damage.

How to unlock classes

Open the Class Shop in the lobby. Every class here has a set Pearl price and a listed starter item and perk you can read before buying.
Select the class you can afford and confirm the purchase. Once bought, the class is permanently unlocked on your account and can be equipped in any future run.
Equip the class before starting a session. Make sure it shows as selected in the lobby, since you cannot change it once the run begins.

Note: The shop shows a random selection of classes, and stock differs from player to player. If the class you want is not listed, wait for the shop to refresh.

How to earn Pearls

Pearls are the only currency that unlocks classes, and there are several reliable ways to build up a stockpile between runs.

  • Redeem active codes for free Pearls.
  • Complete daily quests and claim daily login rewards.
  • Unlock badges, which each pay out a one-time Pearl reward.
  • Claim the one-time Group Chest after joining the game’s Roblox group and liking the game.
  • Buy 10 Pearls from the Buku Merchant for 500 Doubloons, once per run.
  • Survive to the Day 100 rescue for a Pearl payout.
  • Defeat biome bosses, the Squid Boss, and clear the Pirate Stronghold raid.
  • Purchase Pearls directly with Robux.

Which class to buy first

Survivor is the safest opening purchase at 50 Pearls. Faster regeneration, extra oxygen, and reduced hunger help with the systems that end most early runs, and the Chowder gives you a food buffer from the start. Medic and Camper are similarly cheap picks if you would rather lean on healing or extra health.

Once you can spend more, Knight at 380 Pearls stands out for its 30% damage reduction, which stays useful the entire run. The 750-Pearl classes push raw damage the hardest, with Fire Mage’s Magma Staff and stacking magic damage sitting at the top, and Ice Mage, Ancient Squid, and Alien Overlord offering their own mix of damage, sprint speed, and exploration.

Base your choice on what keeps killing your runs. A cheap class you equip every session often returns more value than an expensive one built around a niche you rarely use.
