Memory Chips are a collectible in Beast of Reincarnation tied directly to your ranged loadout. Once you have gathered enough, you hand them to Kaguro at the Cleanse Walker to raise Bauera’s Knowledge, which unlocks upgrades for the Bow, Bolts, Arrows, and the Spring Thunder Crossbow. There are 40 chips spread across the world, and most sit on rusted golem corpses or inside boxes.
Quick answer: Collect all 40 Memory Chips from the zones below, then return to Kaguro at the Cleanse Walker and apply them to upgrade Bauera’s Knowledge. Chips glow bright purple, so watch for that light on golem bodies and near locked boxes.
Ogouchi Buffer Zone Memory Chips
This early region holds six chips. Four are looted from fallen golems, one comes from a locked strongbox, and the last two are found together deeper into the main story.

All three chips here sit near the two generators you activate as part of the story. The tunnels look close together on the map but wind through separate paths.
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | At the generator briefing point, ignore the path you came from and the two objective-marked paths. Take the remaining staircase opposite the dead golem, pass the rats, and follow the roots to a dead end where a golem corpse holds the chip. |
| 2 | On the generator path, ride the elevator down to the train station. Just after you step off, a golem corpse glows purple a few meters ahead. |
| 3 | At the end of the other generator path (toward the water), do not take the elevator up after activating the generator. Circle the room to a locked strongbox behind the trains and clear its mini-game. |
The Great Wall Terraces Memory Chips
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | On top of the southern bridge, behind two Elite enemies. You do not need to fight them; loot it from the golem corpse. |
| 2 | On a gravel path along the river to the east, on a golem corpse beside the path. |
| 3 | On a platform full of shipping containers. Enter the container with the interactable door and loot the strongbox inside. |
| 4 | Inside a hut on the west side of the river. Kill the roaming golem, then grab the chip from the iron box within. |
Pilgrim’s Zone Memory Chips
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | Follow the main marker into the tunnel and beat the Elite enemy to earn a strongbox code. The box is in the tent in the same area you fought the Elite. |
| 2 | At the end of the tunnel’s path, in a tent next to a merchant across from the exit elevator. Destroy the orange plants blocking the entry, then open the iron box. |
| 3 | At the big chamber’s entry door, turn left and drop down. On the west side, climb the tall platforms, turn back, and reach the hut high above. A strongbox inside holds the chip. |
| 4 | Enter the big chamber through the door. On your right, a pillar hides a golem corpse with a glowing chip. |
Matsukawa Zone Memory Chips
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | On top of a platform in a village northeast of the map, inside an iron box with a golem walking nearby. |
| 2 | On a building roof between the two swamps in the northwest. Use the grappling points to reach it; the chip is on a dead golem. |
| 3 | On the path to the Matsukawa cube entrance, inside a single shipping container holding a strongbox. |
| 4 | Inside the Matsukawa cube. Before the lab, check the cylindrical area’s wall doors. Two rooms have pipe-like bridges; the one with no campsite by its door holds a strongbox with the chip. |
Fuji Frontier Zone Memory Chips
The Collapsed Pipes: Approach campsite is your anchor for the first two chips here, and it sits right on your route to the main objective.
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | From the Collapsed Pipes: Approach campsite, turn around and look toward a reversed L-shaped pipe. A purple glow marks the chip on a narrow ledge beside it. |
| 2 | Continue past the campsite, breach the wooden gate, and grapple up the climbable platform. Turn right to reach a strongbox. |
| 3 | Further along toward the objective, enter the tunnel. At the fork with a small painting, take the right path to a dead end for the chip. |
| 4 | Inside the big warehouse, in front of a giant fallen golem, glowing purple and easy to grab. |
Giant Tree Zone Memory Chips
This zone has five chips, several tied to the tram lines. Grappling nodes matter for the platforms above the tracks.
| Chip | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 | On a lower platform just above the water, on a golem corpse. |
| 2 | In the middle of the big root path, on a dead golem next to a smaller root. |
| 3 | Just before the second Nushi’s lair, at the tram station on a dead golem next to a watchtower. |
| 4 | Off the branches from Line 1 of the tram. Grapple to the northern platforms to find a giant golem with containers behind it; the chip is in a strongbox on top of the containers. |
| 5 | Follow Line 2 tram stations to the Giant Tree Roots (Middle Level) campsite. Look up for a building level hanging from the roots, holding a strongbox with the chip. |
Remaining zone Memory Chips
The final chips are scattered across smaller or late-game areas. Each one is straightforward once you are in the right spot.
| Zone | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Crater Zone | As you begin exploring, a giant fallen golem sits in the southern part of the map. The chip is next to it. |
| Inakuma River Zone (1) | After speaking to Gigi Overseer, exit his room and turn left immediately. Open the iron box in the corner to collect three chips at once. |
| Inakuma River Zone (2) | Follow the trams to a big circular area. On the left, a strongbox sits behind a half-wall with a chip inside. |
| Starfall Tower | Follow the objective markers out of the building corridors into the jungle. Move toward the water, then use the giant root reaching into the lake to cross to a floating platform where the chip waits. |
| The Capital | Follow the main marker to an area with a white floor, where a dead golem holds the chip. |
Turning chips into upgrades
Chips do nothing sitting in your inventory. Bring them to Kaguro at the Cleanse Walker and apply them to Bauera’s Knowledge to unlock the next ranged upgrade. You will know it worked when new options open up for the Bow, Bolts, Arrows, and Spring Thunder Crossbow. Since the entire set of 40 feeds into strengthening ranged attacks, sweeping each zone as you pass through it keeps your crossbow and arrows scaling with the rest of your kit.
