Anime Expeditions: Vegetable (Prince) and Carrot (Unleashed) Unbound Damage Duo

How the Unbound and Forsaken traits turn this Dragon Ball Z pairing into a self-triggering transformation combo.

How the Unbound and Forsaken traits turn this Dragon Ball Z pairing into a self-triggering transformation combo.

The Warriors Saga update for Anime Expeditions added Vegetable (Prince) and Carrot (Unleashed), two Mythic units that pair into one of the strongest raw-damage combos in the game. The pairing works because Carrot’s transformation forces Vegetable to transform on the same beat, and both units hit far harder once transformed. With the right traits, the loop keeps firing without you managing it manually.

Quick answer: Run Vegetable (Prince) with the Unbound trait and Carrot (Unleashed) with the Forsaken trait. Place both near the back of the track so their passive ranges overlap. When Carrot transforms, Vegetable’s “Awakened Pride” transforms him instantly, and both units start dealing peak damage.

How the transformation loop works

The entire combo depends on chaining two passives. Carrot builds Fighting Spirit as he attacks. Once it reaches 30, his “Limitless Warrior” passive transforms him. Vegetable’s “Awakened Pride” watches for any unit inside his range transforming, and when it detects Carrot’s change, it triggers Vegetable’s own instant transformation.

Because both transformations land at nearly the same moment, you get two upgraded damage dealers on the field without spending extra resources. Keeping the two units close together is what makes this fire. If Carrot sits outside Vegetable’s range, “Awakened Pride” never activates and the loop breaks.

Carrot’s kit adds two more layers. “Battle Instinct” guarantees a critical hit on every fifth attack, and his “Instant Relocation” ability lets you reposition units to trigger immediate follow-up attacks along with a 50% damage boost. Used on the duo, relocation squeezes extra bursts out of each wave.

Vegetable (Prince) is a pure damage carry, which is exactly what Unbound rewards. Unbound is a Mythic trait with a 0.1% roll chance that grants +350% damage, -5% SPA, and +10% range, with a single-placement restriction. That restriction is a non-issue here because you only field one Vegetable anyway.

Carrot (Unleashed) benefits more from Forsaken, which pushes his critical rate and damage. Since “Battle Instinct” already forces crits on a set cadence, stacking crit-focused stats amplifies every guaranteed hit.

UnitTraitWhy it fits
Vegetable (Prince)Unbound+350% damage on a single-placement carry maximizes raw DPS
Carrot (Unleashed)ForsakenBoosts crit rate and damage to enhance guaranteed critical hits

Note: Unbound is an extremely rare pull. Keep it once you land it unless the unit is a poor mechanical fit, and check the reroll-machine preview before spending more Trait Crystals, since trait figures can shift with balance updates.

How to set up the duo in a match

Start the match by placing money-generating farms such as Stone Alchemist. Building income early gives you enough Yen to afford both Mythic units before the pressure ramps up.

Place Carrot (Unleashed) and Vegetable (Prince) near the back of the track. Positioning them together keeps them inside each other’s range so “Awakened Pride” can read Carrot’s transformation.
Upgrade Carrot until “Instant Relocation” unlocks. Enabling auto-upgrade on both units lets them level while you hold the early waves.
Use “Instant Relocation” on your units to trigger follow-up attacks and the 50% damage boost, clearing waves faster. Add support units to handle shielded enemies when they appear.

You know the loop is working when Carrot transforms after building Fighting Spirit and Vegetable transforms in the same moment. Both units switch to their upgraded forms and their per-hit damage jumps sharply. If Vegetable never transforms, the two units are placed too far apart, so move them closer until their ranges overlap.

The pairing carries its weight in both standard story stages and Mastery Mode, where the same back-of-track placement and transformation timing apply. If you are choosing which of the new Dragon Ball Z units to invest Trait Crystals into first, prioritizing Vegetable (Prince) with Unbound and Carrot (Unleashed) with Forsaken gives you a reliable high-DPS core to build the rest of your team around.
