Odette is a 5-star Cryo Sword support in Genshin Impact 7.0, built to enable and strengthen Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl reactions while dealing off-field damage. She already performs well at C0 with any solid weapon, but two upgrades stand out for players who want to push her further. Her first Constellation and her signature Sword, Whitelake Frostfeather, both raise her output, and limited Primogems usually force a choice between them.
Quick answer: Pull Odette’s C1 over her R1 signature weapon. C1 delivers roughly double the damage gain of Whitelake Frostfeather, and pulling extra copies of Odette also stacks Alyosha Constellations and moves you toward her much stronger C2.
Odette C1 vs R1: The short comparison

What Odette’s C1 adds
The first Constellation, “On This Danceless Morn, She Gazes at Her Reflection,” gives Odette an extra damage instance tied to her special Elemental Skill. When the dance duet ends, she deals an additional instance of Cryo AoE damage to nearby enemies. That instance counts as a Stellar reaction and scales with her ATK.
- In Radiance: Stellar-Conduct, or when she is not in a Radiance state, it lands as Stellar-Conduct reaction DMG at 300% of her ATK.
- In Radiance: Stellar Swirl, it lands as Stellar Swirl reaction DMG at 450% of her ATK.
C1 also upgrades her Passive Talent “Spring Rite of the Chosen One.” Once enhanced, summoning her double grants two Marvelous Splendor stacks instead of the base amount. While Odette is off-field, Marvelous Splendor is removed faster, at two stacks per second, which keeps her rotation flowing.
What Whitelake Frostfeather (R1) adds
Whitelake Frostfeather is Odette’s signature Sword. At level 90 it provides a Base ATK of 674 and a secondary stat of 22.1% CRIT Rate, which fits her CRIT-focused build.
Its R1 passive builds up through her Elemental Skill and rewards staying in a Stellar reaction loop.
- Hitting an enemy with her Elemental Skill grants “Lake-Hued Lament,” raising ATK by 8% for 8 seconds. This can trigger once every 0.1s, up to 3 stacks, and each stack’s duration is counted separately.
- At 3 stacks, the CRIT DMG of any Stellar Glimmer reaction she causes increases by 50%, and triggering those reactions or dealing their damage restores 4 Elemental Energy.
- The Energy recovery works once every 3.5 seconds and still triggers while Odette is off-field.
Every part of this weapon feeds Odette’s own numbers. It boosts her ATK, her CRIT DMG on Stellar Glimmer reactions, and her Energy. None of it passes a buff to teammates, which matters for a unit whose job is supporting the party.
Why C1 wins the comparison
C1 is the stronger buy. It gives roughly double the damage increase you would get from Whitelake Frostfeather, largely because the extra reaction hit lands as high-multiplier Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl damage rather than a stat boost confined to Odette alone.
The signature weapon is also underwhelming for a support. Its ATK, CRIT DMG, and Energy effects only raise Odette’s personal output, so a strong free-to-play Sword often keeps her total team contribution close to what the signature provides. C1 does not have that limitation.
There is a secondary reason to favor the Constellation route. Pulling for extra Odette copies means running her character banner, which also builds up Alyosha Constellations along the way. Getting C1 is the natural first step toward C2, and C2 is a large jump in team DPS.
If you only intend to use Odette in traditional Cryo setups rather than Stellar-Conduct or Stellar-Swirl teams, neither upgrade is essential, and a craftable option such as Emberwell keeps her functional at low cost. But when you are deciding strictly between C1 and R1 for a Stellar support, put your Primogems into C1.
