A full breakdown of which foods are Spicy, Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Dry, or flavorless so you can feed each Pokémon its favorite.

Every piece of food in Pokémon Pokopia carries one of six flavors, and matching a Pokémon’s preferred flavor is one of the fastest ways to raise its Comfort Level. Higher comfort feeds directly into an area’s Environment Level, so knowing what tastes like what saves you a lot of wasted berries.

Quick answer: Feed a Pokémon food that matches the flavor shown in the “Likes” section of its Pokédex entry. The six flavors are Spicy, Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Dry, and No Flavor, and only a matching flavor gives the extra Comfort boost.

How flavor affects Comfort Level

When a Pokémon eats food that matches its favorite flavor, its Comfort Level climbs faster and your friendship bond grows quicker. Give it a flavor it does not care about and it still eats, but you get a plain, neutral reaction with no bonus.

No Flavor foods always earn a neutral response. They restore PP or power up a base ability, but they never trigger the flavor bonus, so they are only worth handing over when a Pokémon specifically asks for one.

Note: For everyday gifting, homegrown crops are the easiest way to cover most flavors, since you can farm a steady supply. Spicy is the hardest to keep stocked because there is no easily renewable berry or vegetable for it, though Fresh Carrots are fairly common if you avoid eating them all.

Every food by flavor

The table below sorts every berry, crop, cooked dish, and drink into its flavor group. Use it to pick the quickest match for whatever a Pokémon prefers.

Where to check a Pokémon’s preferred flavor

Each Pokémon’s favorite flavor is written in the “Likes” section of its Pokédex entry. Open the Pokédex, select the Pokémon you want to befriend, and read the listed flavor before you cook or gift anything.

You know it worked when the Pokémon reacts positively to the food and its Comfort Level rises after eating. A flat, neutral reaction means you gave it a flavor it does not favor, so switch to a match from the table above.

Which foods power up which abilities

Cooked dishes do double duty. Beyond their flavor, each type of dish strengthens one of your main abilities when eaten, so you can pick recipes that match both a Pokémon’s taste and the ability you want to boost.

Berries and raw crops mainly restore PP, while drinks made at vending machines add their own flavors to the mix. With the full list sorted, you can keep a small stock of each flavor on hand and give every Pokémon exactly what it likes without guessing.
