Lineage Piece scatters more than two dozen World Bosses across its islands and raid portals, and they are the main source of rare materials, accessories, titles, fighting styles, and weapons. Some appear on their own and can be farmed on tight timers, while the strongest ones only show up after you hand materials to a summoning NPC or open a sealed portal with a specific key.
Quick answer: Field bosses respawn automatically every 30 to 90 seconds, so you can farm them on the spot. Higher-tier bosses must be summoned manually, either by trading materials and Gems to a summoning NPC or by using a key to open a portal and clearing its waves.
Field bosses that spawn automatically
These bosses appear on their own at fixed spots and return quickly after they die, which makes them the reliable early- and mid-game farm. Snow Bandit, Quincy, Sung Jinwoo, and the Hueco Mundo lineup also drop the keys and materials you need to unlock later portal fights, so they are worth revisiting even after you outlevel them.

Bosses you summon with an NPC
Talk to the summoning NPC on the matching island and hand over the exact items and currency it asks for. The boss then appears in that area’s arena. If nothing spawns, you are missing part of the cost, so check your material and Gem totals before you interact again.

The endgame bosses live behind sealed portals. You need the correct key in your inventory to open the portal, then you usually have to survive or clear a set number of waves before the boss appears. Drop rates on these fights scale with the difficulty you pick, so higher difficulties improve your odds on the rarer materials and cosmetics.

Key farming chains to plan around
Several portal bosses depend on drops from the automatic field bosses, so it helps to know the chain before you commit. The Scatthen Key path is the one exception, since it comes from a questline rather than a straight drop.
- Sung Jinwoo drops the Cartenon Key at a high 60% rate, which opens Cartenon Temple for Shadow Monarch.
- Saber drops the Ryuudo Key at 7.25%, which opens Ryuudo Cave for Saber Alter.
- Snow Bandit drops the Shrine Key at 1%, which opens the Plane of Euthymia for Raiden Ei.
- The Bandit mob in Dawnwind Village drops Cid’s Key at 0.5%, which opens Cid’s Castle for Shadow.
- Complete the Scatthen Key questline on Hueco Mundo to make the Quincy mob drop the Scatthen Key, which opens Wandenreich for Yhwach.
You know a summon or portal worked when the boss loads into the arena or the portal instance opens and starts its wave counter.
