Roll Anime to Fight: How to Get Every Mutation and Their Effects

Every mutation's damage, health, and defense boost, plus exactly how each one appears on your rolled fighters.

Every mutation’s damage, health, and defense boost, plus exactly how each one appears on your rolled fighters.

Mutations are stat modifiers that make a rolled fighter tougher and hit harder in Roll Anime to Fight. Every mutation raises a unit’s damage, health, and defense, and those gains stack on top of whatever a Trait adds. A single fighter can only carry one mutation at a time, so the goal is to land the strongest one you can and then reroll a good Trait on top of it.

Quick answer: Gold and Diamond appear randomly when you press Roll. Demon, Destroyer, Hollow, Slayer, and Cursed only apply during timed mutation events that cycle every 15 minutes starting at XX:15. Astronaut is the strongest mutation and only appears when developers run an Astronaut event during Admin Abuse.

Every mutation and its damage, health, and defense boost

There are eight mutations in total. None of them carry a downside, so a mutated version of a character is always stronger than its base copy. The stat gains scale up the further down the list you go, which makes Astronaut the best mutation currently available.

MutationDamageHealthDefense
Gold+50%+25%+2%
Diamond+125%+50%+3%
Demon+200%+75%+5%
Destroyer+275%+100%+6%
Hollow+350%+125%+6%
Slayer+450%+150%+7%
Cursed+550%+175%+8%
Astronaut+650%+250%+6%

Because the boosts add straight to a fighter’s combat stats, a mutated unit clears tougher waves and survives longer against bosses. Always keep a mutated character over its plain variant.

Gold and Diamond: the mutations you can roll anytime

Gold and Diamond are the only two mutations that can appear on their own. Each time you press Roll, there is a small chance a character comes out already mutated with Gold or Diamond before it lands on the pedestal. You do not need an event or any special timing for these two.

Your Luck multiplier directly changes how often rare and mutated units show up. Raise it by spending Coins on Luck upgrades, and buy the 2x Luck gamepass from the in-game Store with Robux to push the rate higher.

Event mutations: Demon, Destroyer, Hollow, Slayer, and Cursed

The next five mutations only apply during mutation events. An event begins every 15 minutes on a server, starting at XX:15 where XX is the current hour on the clock. Each event runs for a minute or two, and any non-mutated fighter you roll during that window can come out with the event’s mutation.

The events cycle in a fixed order, and each one grants its matching mutation.

OrderEventMutation granted
1DemonDemon
2DestroyerDestroyer
3HollowHollow
4SlayerSlayer
5CursedCursed

Roll actively while an event is live to catch the mutation before the timer ends. These same five events can also be launched by developers during Admin Abuse festivities, which are held to celebrate update releases.

Astronaut: the strongest mutation and how it drops

Astronaut sits above every other mutation with a +650% damage and +250% health boost. It is not part of the 15-minute event rotation. It only appears during the Astronaut event, which developers trigger manually during Admin Abuse. When that event is running, rolled units have a chance to come out with the Astronaut mutation.

There is currently no confirmed schedule for when the next Astronaut event will run, since it depends entirely on developer activity. Keep an eye on the game while updates roll out, as that is when Admin Abuse events tend to happen.

Merging mutated fighters

You can merge two mutated units, but only when they share the same level and the same mutation. For example, a Level 1 Shimo Haya with the Cursed mutation can be merged with another Level 1 Cursed Shimo Haya. Mismatched mutations or levels will not combine, so line up matching copies before you commit.

Since a fighter can only ever hold one mutation, you cannot stack a second one onto an already-mutated unit. Focus on locking in the highest mutation you can reach, protecting it from being used as merge fodder, and pairing it with a strong Trait to get the most out of your best carries.
