Defeat the Volkodlak gang, recover the stolen stash, and escort Nastya to Okurov to close out this Snezhnaya opener.

A Sprout Without a Gardener is the opening chapter of the In the Dwelling of Life quest series in Snezhnaya. It is a short run that asks you to beat the Volkodlak gang, dig their stolen stash out of a blocked tunnel, and walk a rescued girl named Nastya toward the village of Okurov. Finishing it opens up the road to Okurov and hands over Primogems and character-building materials.

Quick answer: Defeat the Volkodlak gang near the Statue of the Seven in Flamefeather Valley, use the Fab-Vision to clear the boulder-blocked tunnel and break open the stash crate, free Nastya, then destroy the hooked metal wall with a Grappling Gun and follow the path down to Okurov.

Requirements to start A Sprout Without a Gardener

The quest only appears once you have reached the Cryo region and cleared the story that leads into it. Meet the conditions below before you head to the start point.

RequirementDetail
Adventure Rank18 or higher
Region accessSnezhnaya (the Cryo region) unlocked
Prerequisite storyComplete the “Shots in the Land of Silence” story mission

Start the quest and defeat the Volkodlak gang

Travel to the quest area near the Statue of the Seven in Flamefeather Valley. From the Moresand settlement, move toward the Statue of the Cryo Archon and look for the stretch with old train cars.
Approaching the group triggers a cutscene. When the dialogue choice appears, pick your response and the encounter begins.

Defeat the Volkodlak led by the gang boss, Anvil. Once the fight ends, speak with Anvil again. He explains that a valuable treasure was stolen from the village of Okurov and points you toward where it is being kept.

Clear the blocked tunnel entrance

Follow the quest marker to the makeshift storage area. You will find a tunnel sealed off by fallen boulders, with a cart and a traction mechanism nearby.
Open the Fab-Vision mode and scan the area. It will confirm that the fragment of power sits just ahead.

With Fab-Vision active, remove the Grappling Gun construct that holds the cart in place. Freeing it lets the cart roll forward and smash through the boulders sealing the tunnel.

Explore the stash and free Nastya

Head into the now-open tunnel. Move up to the crate marked with a Prime Ice Hook.
Activate Fab-Vision again and summon a Grappling Gun next to the Prime Ice Hook. Confirm the build when the construct details appear. The gun yanks the hook and breaks the crate apart, opening a hidden space.

Step inside the broken crate and keep moving. You will find an unconscious girl on the ground. This is Nastya, the “treasure” Anvil described, and reaching her triggers a cutscene.

Open the path to Okurov

Agree to help Nastya get home. The passage into her area of the valley is blocked, so you will need to clear it the same way you handled the tunnel.

Nastya places a fire hook on the metal plate blocking the way. Summon another Grappling Gun right next to it to tear the wall down.
Follow the cleared path down along the tracks. Glide past the underground river, deal with any Hydro Slimes in your way, and continue toward the sunlit opening ahead.

Reach Okurov with Nastya. Arriving at the village completes A Sprout Without a Gardener and leads into the next chapter, Transplanted from Yesterday to Tomorrow.

You will know the quest is done when the arrival cutscene at Okurov plays and the reward summary pops up. If the tunnel or wall refuses to clear, the usual cause is that Fab-Vision was not active when you tried to remove or place a construct, so re-enter the mode and target the hook directly.
