Univolt Cryst is an Ice-type Pal whose exclusive skill, Ice Gale Strike, behaves very differently depending on where you slot the Pal. In your active party it fires once and stops. Assigned to your base defense roster during a raid, it charges in a continuous loop, hitting over and over. That single change is enough to let one Level 80 Univolt Cryst clear the Xenolord raid boss on its own.
Quick answer: Move a high-level Univolt Cryst out of your party and into the Base Pals slots after summoning Xenolord. It picks up base stat bonuses and loops Ice Gale Strike for heavy multi-hit damage while you ride a flying mount to deal with the adds.

Why base deployment changes Ice Gale Strike
Ice Gale Strike is Univolt Cryst’s Level 70 exclusive skill. It generates ice pillars around the Pal while it charges toward a target, at 600 power on a 30-second cooldown. When you throw Univolt Cryst out as a normal party Pal, it uses the skill once and then pauses, cycling through its other Ice moves like Diamond Rain and Absolute Frost in between.
Deployed to the Base Pals section during a raid, the same skill runs as a continuous figure-eight loop. The Pal keeps charging through the boss and re-triggering the attack, so the multi-hit damage stacks up far faster than a party Pal can manage. This is the core reason the solo works, so the assignment step is not optional.

Add to Google Preferences →Stat bonuses from the Base Pals slots
Placing Univolt Cryst into the base active slots grants it base and research bonuses on top of its own stats. The jump is large enough that its offensive output roughly matches the looping behavior it needs to carry the fight.
| Stat | In party | In Base Pals slot |
|---|---|---|
| Attack | 3,992 | 6,332 |
| Defense | 3,108 | 3,241 |
Note: The boss in this fight is a Level 65 Xenolord with 4,424,000 HP, and Univolt Cryst’s Ice damage is flagged as highly effective against it. Xenolord’s Dark and Dragon typing is doubly exposed to Ice, which is why an Ice attacker chews through the health bar so quickly.
How to set up the Univolt Cryst solo

You know the clear worked when the BOSS ELIMINATED banner appears and loot drops on the arena floor for you to collect.
Feeding Univolt Cryst without leaving the raid
Base Pals still get hungry during a long raid. When Univolt Cryst hits the Hungry and then Starving states, its damage output drops sharply, which can stall a solo against a health pool this large. You can restore it mid-fight without recalling any other Pals.

Dealing with the roof glitch and adds
Xenolord can occasionally glitch up onto the roof of the arena, which puts it out of Univolt Cryst’s charge path and pauses your damage. Use your flying mount’s ranged attacks to bait the boss back down to ground level. Once it descends, redeploy Univolt Cryst to the base slot and let the Ice Gale Strikes land again.
The adds are a secondary concern. You can keep enough distance on the mount that the Xenevader and Xenoguard spawns never reach you, then swing back to pressure the boss during your damage windows.
Xenolord drops from the clear
Beating Xenolord pays out endgame crafting materials plus the slab to attempt the harder Ultra version.

Univolt Cryst at Level 80
Univolt Cryst is Paldeck #54B, an Ice-type Pal you can catch as a wild spawn around the World Tree or breed from Univolt and Frostplume. Its partner skill, Frigid Deity, converts your attacks to Ice and boosts your Attack by up to 20% when fully condensed. Its full Ice skill line tops out with the exclusive Ice Gale Strike at Level 70.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Element | Ice |
| Weak to | Fire |
| Resists | Ice, Dragon |
| Exclusive skill | Ice Gale Strike (600 power, 30s cooldown) |
| Partner skill | Frigid Deity |
| Work suitability | Cooling Lv 6, Lumbering Lv 3 |
Other Ice-type Crysts follow the same pattern if you want alternatives to test against Xenolord. Moldron Cryst brings Ice Overload with higher raw Attack, and Beakon Cryst pairs Felldownup with Glacial Plunge. The base-slot loop is the deciding factor, so any strong Ice attacker with an exclusive charge skill benefits from the same deployment trick.
