Anime Final Strike Update 5.0 Tier List: Every Meta Unit Ranked

Where the newest Update 5.0 units land for damage, crowd control, and utility, plus the traits that squeeze the most out of them.

Where the newest Update 5.0 units land for damage, crowd control, and utility, plus the traits that squeeze the most out of them.

Update 5.0 reshuffled the top of the roster in Anime Final Strike, adding a wave of Captain and Conqueror units that push raw damage far past the old meta. The strongest picks now lean on execution scaling, healing lockout, and stacking multipliers rather than plain attack speed. Below is where each headline unit sits, how it earns its place, and the trait that gets the most out of it.

Quick answer: White (Demon) is the best overall unit in Update 5.0. Build it with The One trait, then fill around it with King of Curses, Ice Captain (Dragon), and Manipulator (Monster) for damage, plus Whitebeard (Captain) and White Hunter (Smoker) for control.

Update 5.0 unit tier list

Placements weigh pure damage output, how reliably that damage lands, and the utility a unit brings to a full team. Units that need a specific trait or setup to hit their ceiling are noted in the breakdowns further down.

TierUnits
SWhite (Demon), King of Curses, Ice Captain (Dragon), Manipulator (Monster)
AWhitebeard (Captain), Red Pirate (Conqueror), Coyote (Number One), Terrabolt
BBlossom Captain (Flower), White Hunter (Smoker)

White (Demon) is the clear best unit

White (Demon), the demon form of Ichigo, sits above everything else. It starts from a 1.18M base damage stat and layers execution scaling on top, so it hits harder as enemy health drops. Its transformation adds a 300% damage burst, which turns bosses and tanky waves into short work.

Run it with The One trait for the biggest single-placement payoff. Its kit combines the Instinct and Black Moon passives with the Last Song / Final Getsuga active, giving it both sustained pressure and a heavy nuke on demand.

S-tier damage anchors

These three form the core damage of a modern team. Each brings a different multiplier or debuff, so they stack well together rather than competing for the same job.

King of Curses (Sukuna)

King of Curses shuts down enemy healing entirely through the Dismember passive, cutting it by 100%. That makes it a hard counter to any wave or boss that relies on regeneration. The trade-off is cost, with a total deployment price of 156,000, so it belongs on teams that can afford one premium slot. It carries Fire and Dark elements with physical damage and finishes with the Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine active.

Ice Captain (Dragon)

Hitsugaya as Ice Captain is the most cost-efficient S-tier pick at 137,900 total. It applies freeze and slow, and those status effects feed back into its own output, raising its damage by 50% against affected targets. A fast 2.5s attack speed keeps that magic damage flowing. Slot Frenzy on it to shorten cooldowns and boost damage without needing a rare trait.

Manipulator (Monster)

Aizen as Manipulator marks targets with According to Plan, increasing the damage they take by 25%. When a marked target dies, the effect chains outward and deals heavy area damage. That makes it both a personal damage dealer and a force multiplier for the rest of your board. The One is the recommended trait.

A-tier utility and flexible picks

The A tier trades some raw damage for control, true damage, or scaling that pays off in longer runs.

Whitebeard (Captain)

Whitebeard is a top utility option thanks to the Kaishin tsunami active, which pushes every enemy back to spawn. That is a full board reset in emergencies, though it runs on a long 900-second cooldown, so save it for the moment your defenses are about to break. The Father and Earthquake Man passives round out a strong hybrid profile.

Red Pirate (Conqueror)

Shanks as Red Pirate deals true damage, bypassing physical resistance and hit shields that would blunt other attackers. A 3.3s attack speed keeps the pressure steady, and the Conquerors Haki active adds a 10-second stun for control at key moments. It handles armored enemies that give the rest of your team trouble.

Coyote (Number One) and Terrabolt

Starrk as Coyote has one of the highest damage stats in the game at 919,818, and his attack speed climbs by up to 50% when enemies are near through Zone of Annoyance. The catch is real risk: if no enemies sit in his inner zone, he stops attacking entirely, so placement matters. Terrabolt (Laxus) scales its damage over rounds with the Queen and Cascade passives and wants The One or Emperor to reach its ceiling.

B-tier support and crowd control

These units earn a spot for what they do to enemies rather than how much damage they deal on their own.

White Hunter (Smoker) provides a near-permanent 35% slow when paired with the Sharp Shooter trait for maximum range, making it a reliable pace-setter in front of your damage core. Blossom Captain (Flower), the Byakuya unit, leans on a 50% crit chance and its petal-stacking Bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, for burst against grouped enemies.

The right trait can move a unit up a full tier. Damage carries want The One or Emperor for the biggest single-placement gains, while support and control units prefer range or cooldown bonuses.

White (Demon)The One
Manipulator (Monster)The One
Coyote (Number One)The One
TerraboltThe One or Emperor
Ice Captain (Dragon)Frenzy
White Hunter (Smoker)Sharp Shooter

Emperor gives +250% damage along with range, crit, and money bonuses, which is why it competes with The One on scaling attackers. Frenzy is the easier target for Ice Captain since it still adds +50% damage and a cooldown cut without needing a Secret-rarity roll.
