Big Walk: How to Solve the 4166, 1899 Orange Puzzle

Read the coordinates on the map room's paper map, then split up to release the locked gourd at the orange structure.

Read the coordinates on the map room’s paper map, then split up to release the locked gourd at the orange structure.

The orange structure near the train station in Big Walk hides one of the game’s most confusing collectibles. Inside a glass box sits a gourd, and the only clue is a plank marked “4166, 1899.” Those numbers are map coordinates, and the box only opens when someone presses a hidden button at that exact spot.

Quick answer: Complete the Red Tower to unlock the map room, grab the foldable paper map from the table inside, then send one player to coordinate 4166, 1899 in the south-central part of the island to press the camouflaged button behind the rocks. A second player must stay at the orange structure to grab the gourd the moment the box opens.

What you need before starting

You cannot read the coordinates without the right tool, so this puzzle is nearly impossible if you find it too early. Two things make it solvable.

RequirementWhy it matters
Completed Red TowerPlacing five collectibles in its console gives you a key that opens the map room next to the spawn point.
Foldable paper mapThe paper map that spawns on the table inside the map room is the only version that shows latitude and longitude along its edges.
At least two playersOne person presses the distant button while another waits at the box to collect the gourd.

The large 3D floor map in the same room shows every collectible location, but it has no coordinate grid. Only the paper map lets you translate 4166, 1899 into a real spot on the island.

How to solve the 4166, 1899 coordinates puzzle

Open the foldable paper map from the map room and find where the two numbers meet along the plotted edges. 4166 and 1899 point to the south-central portion of the island.

Decide who stays behind. One player has to remain at the orange structure with the locked box, near the train station Timer Cannon puzzle, so they can grab the gourd the instant it releases.
Send the other player to the marked spot. Head toward the area between where the railway curves and the ski lift disappears into a tunnel. Try not to get pulled into other puzzles along the way.
Look for the button on the side of the rocks once you arrive. It is camouflaged against the stone, so check the rock faces carefully rather than the open ground.
Hold the button. Your teammate back at the orange structure will see the glass box open and can pick up the gourd right away.

How to confirm the puzzle is done

The moment the button is pressed, the box at the orange structure unlocks and the gourd becomes grabbable. Once your partner picks it up, the puzzle is complete and the collectible counts toward the five gourds needed for the Green Tower.

Note: This is one of the five puzzles tied to the Green Tower. After collecting all five gourds and placing them in the tower’s terminal, you get the key that eventually activates the chairlift.

Why the box won’t open

  • No one is standing at the box. The gourd only stays free while someone is present to collect it, so the player at the orange structure must not wander off.
  • You are at the wrong rocks. If pressing a nearby button does nothing, you are not at 4166, 1899. Recheck the paper map’s grid before moving on.
  • You skipped the map room. Without the Red Tower completed and the paper map in hand, there is no reliable way to read the coordinates.

Stay in voice or text contact with your partner throughout. The whole puzzle hinges on one player triggering the button while the other is ready at the box, and it wraps up the instant both actions line up.
