Diablo 4 Season 14, the Season of Death Awakening, is winding down, and Season 15 is what replaces it. Seasons in Diablo 4 don’t overlap — the moment one ends, the next one begins — so the date Season 14 closes is the same date Season 15 opens.
Quick answer: Diablo 4 Season 15 starts on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, most likely at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT. Check the Reliquary screen in your own client to see the exact days remaining on Season 14.
Release time: Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT)
Why Season 15 lands on September 15, 2026
The end-of-season date no longer appears on the character select screen. Instead, the countdown lives inside the Reliquary, the screen that tracks your seasonal rewards progress. It shows the number of days left before the current season resets, and counting forward from that timer lands on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The timing also lines up with Blizzard’s release rhythm. BlizzCon 2026 takes place on September 12 and 13, just two days before the projected reset. That gives Blizzard a stage to reveal the Season 15 theme and systems, then launch the season the following Tuesday while interest is high. Season 14 itself started on June 30, 2026, at 11 a.m. Pacific.
Note: A separate community countdown points to September 28, 2026. The September 15 figure is the one pulled from the in-client Reliquary timer, which makes it the more grounded read. If your own Reliquary timer disagrees, trust the number on your account.

Blizzard has not posted an exact start time, but Diablo 4 seasons almost always flip at 10 a.m. PDT, which is 1 p.m. EDT. Expect the same for September 15. Seasons also tend to open with a roughly 30-minute staggered rollout to keep servers stable, so if the Seasonal Journey doesn’t appear right away, log out and back in a short while after the hour.
| Region | Start time (Sep 15, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Pacific (PDT) | 10:00 a.m. |
| Eastern (EDT) | 1:00 p.m. |
| BlizzCon 2026 | September 12–13 (two days prior) |
What carries over when Season 14 ends
When the timer hits zero, your seasonal characters move to the Eternal Realm. They keep their gear and Paragon levels, but they lose access to seasonal-only content and mechanics. Account-wide progress, such as your Altars of Lilith and map exploration, stays unlocked for good. Anything tied to the season itself — unclaimed Battle Pass rewards and season-specific currency — disappears at the reset, so spend and claim before September 15.
You’ll know the rollover happened when the Seasonal Journey resets and your Season 14 characters appear under the Eternal Realm on the character select screen.
What’s new in Season 15
The 3.2.0 Public Test Realm ran from August 4 to August 11, 2026, and previewed the foundations of the new season. Blizzard held some pieces back for BlizzCon, but several systems are already confirmed.
| System | What it does |
|---|---|
| Soul Splinters | Socketable gems for jewelry that grant resistances plus a powerful boon paired with a real drawback, such as extra Critical Strike Chance at the cost of higher resource costs. |
| Rebirth | Converts an Eternal character to the Seasonal realm, resetting it to level 1. You keep the name, class, appearance, and cosmetics, but all gear and Paragon are lost. |
| Legacy Uniques | Ten iconic Uniques from Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo III return, including Leoric’s Crown. This is a permanent addition across all versions of the game. |
| Mythic crafting | The Horadric Cube gains a direct 1:1 upgrade to Mythic that keeps your item’s affixes, so a Mythic upgrade no longer rerolls into a random item. |
The Mythic change is the one players have been waiting for. Instead of gambling a well-rolled Unique on a reroll that could hand you a different item, the new Horadric Cube recipe upgrades the exact item you put in, keeping its greater affixes, tempering, and masterworking. Items crafted this way carry a Crafted tag, and you can only equip one Crafted item at a time. Mythics made through the Jeweler’s rune recipe do not carry that tag.
Two new open-world encounters also arrive. Challenge Dungeons open through portals in the Overland and let you scale a boss fight up to three Torment tiers above your difficulty for bigger rewards. The Overland Ambush sends a rare demon to hunt you at random, giving you a 30-second warning to fight or flee.
For now, September 15 is the date to plan around. Wrap up your Season 14 chase goals, claim your Battle Pass rewards, and keep an eye on the Reliquary timer inside your own client — that per-account countdown is the most accurate signal for exactly when Sanctuary resets.
