Cursed Lover is a Secret-rarity unit in Anime Origins built around the Jujutsu Kaisen character Yuta Okkotsu, and he does not come out of a banner. The only way to add him to your roster is by grinding Rift, the late-game mode that opens on a timer and closes fast. The drop rate is punishing, but the pity counter means the grind has a hard ceiling.
Quick answer: Complete Rift runs for a 2% chance at Cursed Lover per clear. After 40 Rift completions, the unit is guaranteed.
Rift drop rate, pity count, and schedule
Rift is the single source for this unit, so your entire farming plan revolves around its window. A portal spawns in a server every three hours and stays open for 30 minutes, and inside that window you can repeat stages as many times as your squad can handle. Each stage clear takes up to five minutes, though a strong team finishes well under that.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Secret |
| Source | Rift gamemode only |
| Drop chance per clear | 2% |
| Pity (guaranteed drop) | 40 Rift completions |
| Rift spawn interval | Every 3 hours |
| First spawn of the day | 5:00 am EDT / 9:00 am UTC |
| Window length | 30 minutes |
| Time per stage clear | Up to 5 minutes |
Note: the portal can appear anywhere on the map. Finding it is part of the 30-minute clock, so scout the lobby as soon as the window opens rather than waiting for it to come to you.

Cursed Lover (Pure Love) evolution materials
The evolved form is Cursed Lover (Pure Love), and the recipe is split between Remnants, a shop item, and one crafted weapon. The Sword itself eats a second pile of Remnants, so plan for the combined total rather than the six-line list on the Evolve screen.
| Material | Evolution | Sword craft | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Azure Remnant | 22 | 30 | 52 |
| Violet Remnant | 13 | 9 | 22 |
| Radiant Remnant | 6 | 5 | 11 |
| Prismatic Remnant | 2 | 4 | 6 |
| Cursed Lover’s Ring | 1 | — | 1 |
| Cursed Lover’s Sword | 1 | — | 1 |
| Coins | — | 12,000 | 12,000 |

Where each material comes from
- Remnants — Clearing Challenges is the standard source for every Remnant tier. The Coin Merchant also stocks Remnants, which is the fastest way to top off a shortfall of one or two Prismatics.
- Cursed Lover’s Ring — Sold in the Rift Shop for 500 Tickets. It cannot be crafted.
- Cursed Lover’s Sword — Crafted using 30 Azure Remnants, 9 Violet Remnants, 5 Radiant Remnants, 4 Prismatic Remnants, and 12,000 Coins.
Craft the Sword before you open the Evolve menu. The evolution will not accept the raw crafting materials as a substitute, and the Evolve button stays locked until all six line items are in your inventory. Once the evolution goes through, the unit entry changes to Cursed Lover (Pure Love) with its own passive list, which is the confirmation that everything registered.
What Cursed Lover (Pure Love) does on the field
The evolved unit runs three passives, and one of them is unusual enough to change how you build the rest of your team.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Lingering Queens Heads | Every 6 attacks, manifests 1 Cursed Head that fires a mini Love Beam at the target, with a 30% chance to spawn 2 instead. Each head deals 85% of the unit’s Damage in a small AOE. |
| Copy | Select a unit and copy one of its copyable Active Abilities, storing up to 4 at once. Copied abilities keep their original effects and cooldowns, and Copy itself goes on cooldown after each use. |
| Love Beam (Ability) | The unit and his cursed spirit fire a beam that strikes 5 times in a wide line, dealing a total of 300% of the unit’s Damage to everything in its path. |
Because Copy pulls from whatever is on your board, the value of the four stored slots depends entirely on which Active Abilities you bring alongside him. Fill those slots with your strongest available actives rather than whatever happens to be deployed first.
Once the evolution is done, the last step is rolling traits. Damage and range traits stack directly onto both the Cursed Heads and the Love Beam multipliers, so a good roll is worth more here than on most units.
