Two familiar open-world NPCs are lined up as Version 1.4’s limited S-Class characters, with Psyche and Lakshana typings.

Neverness to Everness has been shipping new limited characters at a brisk pace, and the leak circuit has already moved past the current update. Version 1.3 only just went live, but the names being passed around for Version 1.4 are two characters players have been walking past in the open world since launch.

Quick answer: Leaks point to Blackbird in the first half of Version 1.4 and Akane Rin in the second half, with Psyche and Lakshana Esper typings respectively. None of it is confirmed — treat it as unverified until Hotta Studio runs the 1.4 preview program.

The typings are the newest part of the leak, and they arrived alongside the character names rather than as a separate drop. The leaker behind them, known in the gacha space as Seele, has a track record of calling playable characters early across several games — which is why the community picked this one up quickly rather than dismissing it.

Who Blackbird and Akane Rin are in the game right now

Neither name is new. Both are existing NPCs, which is part of why the leak reads as plausible — Neverness to Everness has already promoted a story antagonist, Zankou, into the playable roster this patch.

Blackbird is the witch figure who runs the Witch’s House. In practice, she is the NPC you hand your Oracle Stone collectibles to after picking them up around the open world, and she pays out rewards for them. Her wider role in Hethereau leans on fortune-telling, Lost Tales, and the city’s occult side, and a Psyche typing would sit comfortably with that.

Akane Rin comes from the other end of the city. Players first meet her during Haniel’s character story, which sends you around the underground rock scene helping local musicians. She is a vocalist and guitarist with a former band behind her, and she currently works the counter at the StarSign bar. Her leaked element is Lakshana, the same Esper type Chaos uses.

When Version 1.4 could arrive

There is no official release date for Version 1.4, and no reveal date has been set for its banner lineup either. What is fixed is the current cycle. Version 1.3 “Rising from the Moonlit Fog” runs in two 21-day halves, with Zankou and a Nanally rerun in the first, and Linko plus a Hotori rerun starting September 9 and closing out September 30, 2026.

1.2Shinku (Jul 8 – Jul 29)Iroi (Jul 29 – Aug 19)
1.3Zankou (Aug 19 – Sep 9)Linko (Sep 9 – Sep 30)

Hotta Studio reveals each version’s banner lineup during an official preview program, typically about a week ahead of the update going live. That broadcast is the point at which a leaked name either becomes a confirmed banner or quietly disappears.

Why other 1.4 leaks disagree

Blackbird and Akane Rin are not the only names that have been attached to Version 1.4. Earlier roadmap leaks slotted Elyms, the lieutenant of ETD-6, and Exe, the squad’s captain, into the 1.4 pair instead, pushing Akane Rin and the reserve ETD-6 member Nitsa back to 1.5. Older datamined forecasts went further off, listing an unnamed Aether support for the patch.

Roadmap leaks tend to be ordering guesses built on beta strings and character-model progress, so names routinely slide between versions. The Blackbird and Akane Rin pairing is the more recent and more specific claim, since it comes with Esper typings and a phase split attached.

Saving for a 1.4 banner: pity rules that carry over

Neverness to Everness runs its gacha as a dice-and-board system called Scarborough Fair, and the mechanics that matter for long-term saving are stable across versions.

BoardCurrencyHard pity
Limited BoardSolid Dice90 pulls
Standard BoardAnnulith90 pulls (S-Class selector after 50)
Arc Research ProgramTri-Keys80 pulls

The important part for anyone banking currency for a future patch is that pity progress on a limited character board carries into the next one. Nothing is lost by stopping short of a pull on the current banner. Roll counts are also shared across Limited Boards running at the same time, and pull counts plus pity are shared across the Special Issues Arc Research Programs.

Note: Skin Perks progress is tracked per Limited Board rather than pooled, and it carries over when a board with the same name returns later.

Until the 1.4 preview program airs, Blackbird and Akane Rin are two names with a phase split and a pair of Esper types attached, nothing more. The safe read is to keep saving through the back half of 1.3 and wait for the official lineup before committing Solid Dice — the pity you build now will still be there whenever the next limited board opens.
