FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive gives each playable character a class title, a specific blood power, and a backstory that explains why they fight. The full roster runs to 14 Bloodsworn, and every one of them turns blood into a combat mechanic in a different way, from petrification to shadow traps to a coffin full of something that used to be family.
Quick answer: There are 14 Bloodsworn classes. Each is written as a class name plus a character name, such as Blood-Eater | Walter or Ash-Crown | Camilla, and each has one signature blood ability or weapon that defines how it plays.

Add to Google Preferences →Heavy weapon classes: Gillian, Maurice, and Randolph
Three Bloodsworn fight with an object rather than a power. Gillian is an executioner of the Marisbel Inquisition who hauls a giant iron guillotine blade on his back. Years of exposure to blood have started to mutate him, and he is hunting the “Blood of the Beginning” before his own head comes off.

Maurice spent his life collecting corpses on the streets of Temurat at dusk. The iron coffin strapped to his back holds a mud-like monstrosity that was once his family. He slams the coffin into enemies, drains their blood, and feeds it to whatever is inside.
Randolph is the outlier of the group, an assault trooper of the Sampere Weapons Corps with a back-mounted rig that lets him fly. He carries a huge piercing spear that goes through armor, and his mechanized abdomen stores bloodlust to fire off wide-area strikes.
Self-harm classes: Veronica, Sebastian, and Baldur
The most uncomfortable group in the roster pays for its damage in its own blood. Veronica is a blind nun who was abandoned in the basement of a ruined cathedral. She wounds herself to spread the blood blisters multiplying inside her body, and anything her footprints touch rots instantly.
Sebastian drives silver nails into his own body and uses the blood that runs out as a catalyst for miracles. Each fresh wound grants a burst of overwhelming ferocity, though his mind and body are already past repair.

Baldur, a former priest of Kinmitsu, fills his mouth with scrap iron and needles. Every prayer he speaks tears his mouth open, and the resulting mist of blood becomes the attack itself.
Area control classes: Ulan, Isabel, and Camilla
These three shape the ground around them instead of trading hits. Ulan gained superhuman leg strength through human experimentation, and filthy blood constantly pours from her ankles. Wherever she runs, a red poisonous swamp forms behind her.

Isabel, once a waitress at the Siltera Noble Mansion, can materialize shadows, trap enemy blood inside them, and drain it. Every light source in the places she passes through goes out.
Camilla watched her clan burn. She now mixes their ashes with her own blood to make “blood ash,” which petrifies and crystallizes enemies so she can shatter them.
Transformation classes: Oscar and Elsa
Oscar is a taxidermist who lost his mind and started sewing beast flesh from every era and region directly onto himself. In a fight he takes tissue from enemies and patches himself with it, and as that tainted power accumulates his body becomes an ancient, rare beast.
Elsa works in the opposite direction. Her Dusk Disease has reached its final stage, so when she is attacked her body turns into a blood-mud substance that flows out of the way. From there she can inject her own poisoned blood straight into an opponent.
Tracking classes: Walter and Yuri
Walter is the last survivor of an extinct clan of rare-blood hunters. His sense of smell is sharp enough to track the blind spots in other people’s pasts. He fell into madness after repeatedly licking the blood of the sister he killed, and he still hunts pure blood while walking the line between life and death.
Yuri is a heretical observer who cut off his own eyelids. Fixing his gaze on a target intensifies their blood flow until the body bursts from the inside, which makes him the closest thing the roster has to a pure ranged killer.
First-Shard: The Nameless Shadow wildcard
The fourteenth entry is not really a person. Nameless Shadow is an imperfect mass of flesh tied to “First Blood,” unable to understand language and with no sense of its own origin. Its ability is mimicry, copying and unleashing the techniques of every other bloodline, which makes it the one class that can theoretically answer any matchup.

What every Bloodsworn class shares
Class identity is only half of it. Every Bloodsworn can summon an entity to help in combat and has some means of long-range attack, which the game’s setting allows to be a firearm since it is not pinned to a single time or place. Matches hold up to eight players and mix PvP with PvE.

Customization runs through a system called “blood history and fate,” which adjusts abilities, appearance, characteristics, and your role in a match. Roles include Destined Rivals, which marks a specific player for you to hunt down, and Destined Companion, which points you at an ally for a special reward. Victory Points decide the outcome, earned through combat or more indirect play, and most matches end as last player standing, though some swap in a different condition such as killing a boss. Everyone gets rewards at the end regardless of placement.
Which classes are playable in the closed network test
The class list surfaced from a server-side data update pushed ahead of the game’s first public test, so it reflects what is loaded on FromSoftware’s end rather than a formal reveal. The studio has not confirmed how many of the 14 will be selectable during the test itself.
The closed network test runs across multiple sessions starting Friday, August 21st, 2026, with the first window from 3AM to 7AM PT and the final session on Sunday, August 23rd from 7PM to 11PM PT. Registration and session details live on the official Duskbloods site.
Note: Some class and character names appear in more than one spelling in circulation, including Ulan versus Wulan and Isabel versus Isabelle. The final English localization will settle those.
The Duskbloods is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive scheduled for release in 2026. The test weekend is the first chance to see how many of these 14 blood powers actually hold up against seven other players at once.
