Where Ichigo, Piccolo, Chopper, Gaara, and the rest of the Update 5.5 roster land, with the stats that decide it.

Update 5.5 shifts the pecking order in Anime Final Strike, and the fastest way to know who deserves a slot is to look at raw output in Infinite Mode. The evolved units carry the update, but a handful of established damage dealers still sit at the very top. Below is how the current roster stacks up, followed by the numbers that justify each placement.

Quick answer: Ichigo is the strongest unit right now, with Aizen, Smoker, Byakuya, the evolved Piccolo (Namekian), and the evolved Chopper (Reindeer Doctor) rounding out the top group. Gaara (Evolved) sits a step below as a crowd-control pick.

Update 5.5 tier list rankings

TierUnits
TOP 10Ichigo, Aizen (Manipulator Monster), Smoker, Byakuya, Piccolo / Namekian (Evolved), Chopper / Reindeer Doctor (Evolved)
Sub MetaGaara (Evolved)

Note: The higher tiers reward units that either post large damage numbers or push resource generation, while Gaara’s placement reflects a support role rather than a damage one.

Why these units rank where they do

Ichigo holds the number-one spot because of his heavy passive damage and a 50% damage boost that applies while enemies are above half health. That makes him brutal at the start of waves, when the largest health pools appear. Aizen scales differently but ends up just as threatening. His attack power climbs with every kill he secures, so a well-placed Aizen snowballs across long runs.

Piccolo earns his TOP 10 slot on efficiency. He deals 360.5K damage at max upgrade with a fast 1.3 SPA, and his teleport attack lets him keep pressure on moving targets. For a unit that maxes out at 6,000, that damage-per-cost ratio is hard to beat.

Chopper is the odd one in the top group because he barely deals damage himself. His value is economic. He doubles yen earned for 10 seconds every 45 seconds and grants a damage buff of up to 10% based on how much yen you are holding. A farm-plus-support unit that indirectly boosts your whole board is worth building around, which is why he sits alongside the pure damage dealers.

Gaara (Evolved) lands in Sub Meta because his strength is control, not output. His Absolute Defense passive makes him immune to stun, and Sand Trap buries enemies for 15 seconds every 45 seconds. Useful, but he tops out at only 60.7K damage and costs 10,000 to max a single copy. You can place up to four, and maxing all four runs about 140,000 yen total, which is a steep investment for a support role.

Update 5.5 unit stats compared

Aizen (Manipulator Monster)479.5K60.72.125%6,000
Piccolo / Namekian (Evolved)360.5K821.310%6,000
Gaara (Evolved)60.7K25.62.125%10,000
Chopper / Reindeer Doctor (Evolved)15.917.69.20%5,000

The stat spread explains the roles at a glance. Aizen and Piccolo carry damage, Piccolo also brings the widest range at 82 and the quickest attack cycle. Gaara trades damage for defensive utility. Chopper’s tiny damage figure confirms he is played entirely for the yen boost and team buff, not for kills.

Key passives worth noting:

  • Aizen: According To Plan, Kyoka Suigetsu (attack grows with kills)
  • Piccolo / Namekian: Green Bean, Regeneration
  • Gaara: Absolute Defense (stun immunity), Sand Trap (15s bury every 45s), Desert Coffin
  • Chopper / Reindeer Doctor: Bounty, Doctor, Doctor’s Fee (double yen for 10s every 45s, plus up to 10% damage buff)

How this ranking was decided

Placements weigh max-upgrade damage, attack speed, range, and any passive that changes a unit’s real value, tested against sustained Infinite Mode pressure. Cost-to-output matters too, which is why efficient units like Piccolo rank above pricier control picks. This ranking reflects the Update 5.5 state of the game. Update 5.5 itself lands as a middling patch overall, held back by a buggy macro system and continued power creep, so expect these positions to move as balance changes roll out.
