Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon: How to Fuse Droids

Unlock the Fusion Machine at Rebirth 3 and combine three same-variant companion droids.

Star Wars Droid Tycoon’s Fusion Machine turns three crafted companion droids into a new unit, including secret and higher-rarity results. It will not run on raw blueprints, and it rejects mixed variants on the spot.

Quick answer: Reach Rebirth 3, spend 400K Credits to build the Fusion Machine, then place three crafted companion droids that share the same variant. Start the job only when the terminal reads FUSION READY.

Fusion Machine unlock at Rebirth 3

The Droid Fusion Event is what adds the machine. When it is live, the hub shows 2x Boosts and a build prompt that stays locked until Rebirth 3.

Complete Rebirth 3 before you walk over to the fusion hub. The build prompt will not open earlier, and there is no workaround on the chamber itself.
Pay 400K Credits to unlock the Fusion Machine. After the purchase, the chamber opens with PLACE DROID slots and a FUSION RECIPES board on the wall.

The recipe board lists three combination types. Those labels are SECRET FUSION DROIDS, RARITY UPGRADE, and VARIANT UPGRADE. Read the board before you spend a high-rarity trio, because the specific droids you load decide the output, not just the fact that you filled three slots.

Craft companion droids for the chamber

A blueprint cannot sit on the fusion platform. The machine wants finished companion droids. If you drop a raw RIC-1200 print onto the pad, nothing valid registers and you have to leave the chamber to craft first.

Build the units at the crafting station. A RIC-1200 Rainbow Mythic job can put you into a short encounter with that droid, where a DL-44 Blaster Pistol is enough to finish the build. OPTI-STRK and other legendaries follow the same craft-then-assign path.

Gold Splash boosts and pickaxe strikes shorten those craft timers. You can also swap the companion you have equipped while you wait. The Mono-W1KR menu offers SWAP in exchange for a +1.8/sec Droid Crafting bonus, which is useful when you still need two more matching units.

Fusion assignment and matching rules

Every droid you plan to spend must be assigned to Fusion before the pad will take it. Open that droid’s menu and set its category to Fusion, then walk it onto an empty PLACE DROID slot. The counter moves from 2/3 to 3/3 only after the third valid assignment.

Open the companion menu on the first droid and choose Fusion. The same control appears on units such as B1 Heavy, LEP, GUNRUNNER, and BB9. Do not send the droid to work or leave it idle if you want it in the chamber.

Park unused droids in Lounge from the Astromech menu so they are out of the way. Lounge is only storage. It does not feed the machine, and it will not fix a bad trio.

Load three droids that share one variant. Stellar with Stellar works. Galactic with Galactic works. Beskar LEP plus Galactic GUNRUNNER plus Stellar R2 does not, and a Galactic B1 Heavy dropped into that mix still reads INVALID.
Confirm the terminal. FUSION READY means the recipe is legal and the Credit charge is listed. INVALID means you pull the trio and match the variant before you try again. Worker-only groups such as LEP, GUNRUNNER, and RIC-1200 still fail when the variants do not line up.

Same variant is the hard rule. The three recipe types on the board still need the right droid identities after that, which is why one Stellar trio can come out Mythic and another Stellar trio can come out Epic.

Fusion recipe results and wait times

A legal trio starts a timed job and spends Credits. The wait scales with the result. One Stellar Mythic run charged 5.80T Credits and sat for 35 hours. Lighter outputs finish much faster.

Trio usedResultWait
Stellar Legendary Mecha-Droid, B2-RP, BB9Stellar Mythic35 hours
Three Galactic droidsCYCLO-GRAV Galactic Legendary8 hours
Three Stellar droidsStellar Epic HAUL-R2 hours 30 minutes

A finished Stellar Mythic KX has posted 900.00K/s. Fusion combinations can also produce droids that are new to the set, including the Galactic Epic N-UL. The board accounts for 17 fusion droids in total.

You know the job started when the timer appears after FUSION READY. You know it finished when the new droid is ready to collect. Fusion Paint becomes equippable after 17 Fusion Droids are unlocked, which is the clean check that the full fusion set is in your collection.

Fusion Tank, rush, and Cantina Shop costs

One tank runs one fusion. A second legal trio hits ALL TANKS BUSY until that first timer ends, unless you buy another tank. The extra Fusion Tank costs 300 Nova Crystals or 1800 V-Bucks. The Nova Shop also lists a Fusion Speed upgrade if you want shorter waits without paying per job.

Rush Fusion skips the remaining time. The prompt has charged 50 Nova Crystals or 250 V-Bucks to finish a KX fusion immediately. A Fusion Pack is sold for 1800 V-Bucks if you would rather buy a bundle than spend Nova Crystals one upgrade at a time.

PurchasePrice
Extra Fusion Tank300 Nova Crystals or 1800 V-Bucks
Rush Fusion50 Nova Crystals or 250 V-Bucks

Cantina Shop III keeps a separate Surges tab next to those fusion purchases. Rainbow Surge, Beskar Surge, Galactic Surge, and Stellar Surge are the four items on that list, with Rainbow, Beskar, and Galactic priced at 200, 300, and 400.

If the terminal still says INVALID after three droids are seated, check variant first, then confirm each unit is a crafted companion assigned to Fusion. The machine only moves when those two conditions and an open tank are all true.
