Beast of Reincarnation: How to Get the Resonance Sword in Chapter 5

The Resonance Sword is a melee weapon in Beast of Reincarnation that you collect while working through Chapter 5: Branching Paths. It sits on the ground rather than inside a chest, so it is easy to walk straight past it if you rush the objective toward the Matsukawa Colony.

Quick answer: In the Matsukawa Zone, rest at the Cave Entrance Campsite, cross the fire-filled tunnel using Emma’s hair traversal, clear the enemies in the room with the lore painting, then pick up the Resonance Sword from the base of that painting before the exit.

The sword is tied to the main path in Chapter 5, so you do not need to explore off-route to reach it. Follow the objective toward the Matsukawa Colony and the cave is the last major stop before you exit into the village beyond.

Travel north through the Matsukawa Zone until you reach the Cave Entrance Campsite. A Merchant Golem stands just to the left of it, so restock and rest here before heading in.

Enter the cave, which is filled with fire. Use Emma’s hair traversal to walk carefully above the burning terrain so you cross the flame bed without taking damage.

In the room at the end, defeat the group of malefacts that ambush you, including an Elite enemy. Shock or Lightning damage makes this fight faster. Once they are down, the cave’s exit opens up.

Before you leave through the opened path, turn to the large mural, or lore painting, in this room. The Resonance Sword rests on the ground at its base. Interact with it to add the weapon permanently to your inventory.

You will know it worked when the weapon appears in your inventory and the pickup prompt confirms the Resonance Sword. The most common reason players miss it is heading straight out the newly opened exit without checking the dark corner in front of the mural.

Resonance Sword stats and the Puppet’s Call skill

The Resonance Sword deals Slash damage with a base Melee Attack of 27, which is in line with most standard swords in the game. Its value comes from the unique Puppet’s Call skill rather than raw numbers.

Each slash carries a 2% base chance to turn foes into puppets for 5 seconds. While affected, those enemies fight on your side, which helps split enemy attention and adds passive damage during longer fights. Because every hit rolls the chance independently, faster and more aggressive attacks trigger the effect more often.

Note: Puppet’s Call is ineffective against strong enemies or Nushi. Treat it as a tool for regular enemies and crowds, not for major boss fights.

Upgrade path: Puppet’s Call chance up to 7%

Enhancing the Resonance Sword raises both its Melee Attack and the puppet chance. The first enhancement takes Melee Attack from 27 to 34 and costs 1,000 currency at the Enhance Equipment menu. Each upgrade tier of the skill increases the chance, while the 5-second duration and the immunity of strong enemies and Nushi stay the same.

When the Resonance Sword is worth using

Because the puppet effect turns enemies against each other, the Resonance Sword performs best when you are surrounded, exploring open areas, or grinding through packs of regular foes. The summoned puppets add steady damage with no extra input from you, which lowers the pressure in busy encounters.

Against a single elite or a boss the activation is less reliable, and it does nothing against Nushi and other strong enemies. As a mid-game blade it holds up well thanks to the skill, even though later swords surpass its raw damage. Fully upgrading it to the 7% tier makes the crowd-control effect noticeably more consistent.
