Badges in 100 Days At Sea mark specific milestones you clear during a run, from surviving your first night to defeating late-game bosses. Each one also carries a payout, which is the real reason to chase them.
Quick answer: You unlock a badge by completing its exact objective in a run, then claim it once from the Badges menu in the lobby to collect its Pearls. Those Pearls buy Classes, reroll the Class Shop, and unlock Companions.

How badge rewards work
Every badge has one fixed unlock condition. When you meet it during a run, the badge registers on your account. To collect the reward, return to the lobby, open the Badges menu, find the newly unlocked badge, and claim its Pearls. Most badges pay out roughly 20 to 30 Pearls, and each reward can only be claimed once.
Pearls are the currency that unlocks Companions and Classes, and you can also spend them to reroll the Class Shop. Beyond that, an unlocked badge can be equipped in the lobby to display on your profile, but that is purely cosmetic.
Note: If a badge does not seem to unlock, the most common reason is that you did not fully meet its condition in a single session or single run when the wording requires it. Objectives that say “in a single run” or “in a single session” reset if you leave.
