Precision Components are the consumable currency you spend to permanently unlock weapon accessories in Once Human. You earn them through the Collection system, which tracks every gear blueprint tied to your account. Because accessories are account-wide, unlocking one makes it available to all of your characters and every compatible weapon at once.
Quick answer: Unlock weapon and armor blueprints (through exploration or by buying them in the Blueprints menu with Starchrom) to raise your Collection Level. Blueprints and Collection Level milestones grant Precision Components, which you then spend from the Accessory interface to unlock any sight, grip, or muzzle brake.
Where Precision Components come from
The current system routes all accessory unlocks through the Collection system instead of scattered world pickups. You no longer hunt down individual attachments at Riddle Spots, the Morphic Shop, or merchants. Instead, you collect Precision Components and spend them on whatever accessory you want.
There are two reliable ways to gain them. Unlocking a weapon or armor blueprint automatically adds Precision Components to your account. Reaching certain Collection Level milestones also rewards them. The total Collection Level cap runs up to Lv 900.
Mystical Crates found at major points of interest are a key source. Each crate yields either a stash of Starchrom or a weapon or armor blueprint. A blueprint drop gives you Precision Components directly. If you get Starchrom instead, you can spend it in the Blueprints menu to acquire more blueprints.
Note: Buying a blueprint from the Blueprints menu does not hand you Precision Components on the spot. What it does is raise your Collection Level, and the milestone rewards along that track are where the components come from. This is a slower, more expensive route, but it eventually unlocks everything as long as you keep spending Starchrom.
Where to get Starchrom
Starchrom feeds the whole loop, since it buys the blueprints that raise your Collection Level. You can gather it from several activities.

How to unlock a weapon accessory
You know it worked when the accessory’s locked status clears and your Precision Component total drops by the listed amount. If the hold action does nothing, you do not have enough components for that rarity, and the tooltip on the card confirms the exact number needed.
How accessories behave once unlocked
Unlocking an accessory gives you an effectively unlimited supply of it. You can equip the same accessory on as many weapons as you like, swap it freely at any time, and you never spend resources or use a workbench to do so.
Accessories of the same type and rarity provide identical stat boosts, so you can pick whichever look you prefer without losing performance. They affect handling stats like accuracy, stability, and reload speed. They do not change damage, with one exception: accessories that alter your range stat shift the damage drop-off distance of your shots.
Tip: If you are working with limited components, unlock one gold accessory per category before buying any lower-tier ones. Eventually you will collect enough blueprints and reach enough Collection Level milestones to unlock every accessory in the game.
