The Astral Observatory arrived in Fisch with the August 22, 2026 update, and its Bestiary works differently from most. Instead of one island, the catches are spread across six hidden pools tucked inside caverns around the sea. To finish it, you fish every pool and log all 36 entries.
Quick answer: Visit all six Astral pools (Boreal Hollow, Abyssal Zenith, Boreal Pines, Everturn Forest, Cryogenic Canal, and Snowcap Island) and catch every fish listed for each. The Snowcap pool only opens during a Blue Moon in Winter, so save it for that window.
Where to find the six Astral pools
Each pool sits behind a cave entrance, an underwater opening, or a seasonal door. Use the coordinates below to reach each one quickly. Note the Abyssal Zenith and Snowcap pools carry extra unlock requirements.

Note: In the Cryogenic Canal cavern you cannot die from hypothermia or lack of oxygen, so you can fish there without stocking survival items.
Boreal Hollow catches
This pool holds a full spread of rarities, from Common up to the Exotic Goliath Siphonophore. The Goliath only appears during a Goliath Siphonophore Hunt, which can spawn naturally through disturbance and lasts 15 minutes. The hunt ends once someone catches it, and Sundial Totems cannot force it to spawn.

Abyssal Zenith catches
The hardest pool to reach. Bring a Submarine, enter Mariana’s Veil, and dive into the Abyssal Zenith pool to find the dark opening at the bottom. Corvus can be found on the left side of the pond inside.

This cavern sits under a frozen lake near the Merchant’s cabin. Move quickly through the ice to avoid freezing on your way to the pool.

Snowcap Island catches (Blue Moon required)
Snowcap holds the most entries at seven, but it only opens when a Blue Moon event is active, and the Blue Moon appears only during the Winter Season. Wait for Winter, then buy a Blue Moon Totem for 1,200,000 C$ at coordinates 2717, 141, 2480 on Snowcap Island. With the Blue Moon active, go to the Blue Moon Door near 2698, 188, 2563 and drop down to the secret cavern entrance.

The rarest catches and how completion counts
Five Secret-rarity catches are the toughest pulls in the set: Stabilizer Core, Unstable Crystal, Umbral Matrix, Singularity Control Unit, and Stellar Wiring. Each uses Magnet bait and appears in its home cavern.
Keep in mind that Secret fish do not count toward total Bestiary completion. That means you can complete a location’s page and earn its reward without every Secret catch, though logging them still fills out the Bestiary entries. Magnet bait is the key for the Exotic and Secret material catches across all six pools, so keep a stock of it before you set out.
You’ll know a pool is done when its Bestiary page turns yellow, signaling 100% completion for that location. Once every qualifying entry is logged across all six pools, the Astral Observatory page reads complete, and its reward is added to your account.
Work through the pools in whatever order suits the current season, and hold the Snowcap trip until a Blue Moon lines up in Winter.
