Sker Ritual: Doomstick Dark Ops Guide on Rex Inferno

Corrupt an Olympia or FAL wall buy, then land the killing blow on the Warden to earn the hidden calling card.

Corrupt an Olympia or FAL wall buy, then land the killing blow on the Warden to earn the hidden calling card.

Doomstick is one of the hidden Dark Ops challenges in Sker Ritual, and it only unlocks on Rex Inferno. The requirement itself is short, but the setup is fiddly, because the weapon you need does not exist until you create it mid-match, and it hurts you the moment you pick it up.

Quick answer: Kill the Warden boss with a corrupted weapon — either the corrupted Breacher (Olympia) or the corrupted Nova Line (FAL) — as the final blow.

Doomstick requirements on Rex Inferno

Everything hinges on two things happening in the same match: the corrupted wall buy has to be available, and the Warden fight has to still be ahead of you. Plan the run so you build the weapon before you commit to the boss.

RequirementDetail
MapRex Inferno
TargetThe Warden boss
Weapon neededCorrupted Breacher (Olympia) or corrupted Nova Line (FAL)
Unlock condition for the wall buysThree weapons Pack-a-Punched to level three

Kill conditionThe corrupted weapon must land the killing blow

The Olympia is the easier of the two to work with. It hits hard enough at close range to finish a weakened boss without needing much ammo management, which matters when you are juggling a weapon that is actively draining your health.

How to create a corrupted weapon

Pack-a-Punch three separate weapons up to level three. This is the gate that makes the corrupted wall buys appear at all, so do it early while points are cheap and rounds are still short.

Wait for the next rain round. Once it starts, the Breacher and Nova Line wall buys will be highlighted, marking them as the two guns that can be corrupted.

Grab the purple fire and throw it at the wall buy you want while the rain round is still running. The Olympia is the recommended pick. This spawns a high-value spider enemy in the area.

Kill the spider and pick up the grapple gun it leaves behind. You want that mobility before you touch the weapon itself.
Pick up the corrupted weapon and head straight for Pack-a-Punch. The gun damages you over time while you are holding it, and Pack-a-Punching it is what stops the drain. Do not detour, do not clear a room first.

Tip: the grapple gun is the difference between making the Pack-a-Punch run comfortably and bleeding out halfway there. Route it in your head before you pick the weapon up.

Killing the Warden with the corrupted weapon

The corrupted gun does not need to carry the whole boss fight. Only the last hit counts, so treat the fight as two phases with different tools.

Enter the Warden fight with your strongest upgraded weapon equipped and chew through the majority of the boss health with it. Trying to do the whole fight with the corrupted weapon wastes time and risks a death that costs you the run.
Once the Warden is clearly low, switch to the corrupted weapon and finish it off. That final shot is the trigger for Doomstick.

If it registered, the Dark Ops unlock notification fires on screen as the Warden goes down, and Doomstick shows as earned in the Dark Ops calling card list instead of staying hidden.

Why Doomstick does not unlock

There are only a few ways this attempt fails, and all of them are avoidable.

  • The killing blow came from a different weapon. Anything other than the corrupted Olympia or FAL landing the last hit means no credit.
  • Fewer than three weapons were Pack-a-Punched to level three, so the Breacher and Nova Line wall buys never highlighted.
  • The purple fire was thrown outside a rain round, when the wall buys are not eligible for corruption.
  • The corrupted weapon’s damage over time killed you before you reached Pack-a-Punch.
  • You over-committed to the boss with the corrupted weapon and it went down to chip damage from something else.

Build the weapon well before the Warden fight rather than scrambling for it once the boss is already active. The corruption chain depends on a rain round arriving, and you cannot rush that timing — so bank the corrupted, Pack-a-Punched gun early and keep it slotted until the moment you need it.
