Elden Ring Tarnished Edition: Tree Sentinel Torrent Skin Location

Torrent can finally change clothes. The Tarnished Pack adds a set of cosmetic outfits for the spectral steed, and the gilded Tree Sentinel look is the one most players will pick up first because it sits behind a boss almost everyone kills early.

Quick answer: Defeat Godrick the Grafted, fast travel to his Site of Grace in Stormveil Castle, walk straight ahead into the building behind the arena, turn right into the small chamber, and open the chest to get Spectral Steed Regalia: Tree Sentinel. Equip it by resting at any Site of Grace and choosing “Change spectral steed appearance.”

What the Tree Sentinel attire changes

The attire reskins Torrent as a mount of the Erdtree’s sentinels, with gold plating and heavy caparison that mirror the mounted knights guarding the roads of the Lands Between. It is purely visual. Speed, health, double jump, and every other property of the steed stay exactly the same in PvE and PvP.

You can swap back to Torrent’s default appearance from the same menu whenever you like, so picking up the item costs you nothing.

If you are on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC and the chest is not there, the pack is almost certainly the reason. It is sold on each platform’s store, and details for the base game and its add-ons live on the official Elden Ring page.

Tree Sentinel skin location in Stormveil Castle

Open the map and fast travel to the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace. This Grace only exists once the boss is dead, so clear the fight first if you have not already.

Leave the arena and walk straight forward into the building directly behind it. This is the throne room area attached to the boss space, and it takes only a few seconds to reach on foot.

Turn right into the small side chamber. A single treasure chest sits inside, and it is the only interactive object in that room.

Open the chest to collect Spectral Steed Regalia: Tree Sentinel. The pickup banner names the item on screen, and it is stored automatically.

How to equip the attire and confirm it worked

Rest at any Site of Grace and select “Change spectral steed appearance.” The list shows the attires you own, with Tree Sentinel alongside the other Tarnished Pack options, Carian Silver and Funeral Night.

Pick Tree Sentinel and the game prints a confirmation line reading Spectral steed's appearance changed to "Tree Sentinel". Summon Torrent afterwards and the gold armour will be on him immediately, with no reload required.

Note: the appearance option only appears once you have at least one attire in your possession, so the menu entry showing up is itself a sign the pickup registered.

Why the chest might not be there

Godrick is still alive, so the Site of Grace and the route behind the arena are not available yet.
You are playing on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC without the Tarnished Pack installed.
The game has not been updated to the patch that adds the pack’s items.

Of the three steed attires in the pack, this is the least demanding to reach, since Godrick sits on the critical path and the chest is a short walk from his Grace. Grab it on your next run through Stormveil and Torrent gets a new look for the rest of the playthrough.
