Elden Ring: How to Get the Carian Silver Torrent Skin at Ranni’s Rise

Torrent finally has a wardrobe. The Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring adds spectral steed appearances, and Carian Silver is the pale, moonlit variant that fits the Liurnia sorcery aesthetic. It is not a reward for a boss or a quest step. It is sitting in a chest inside a tower you have probably already walked past.

Quick answer: Fast travel to the Ranni’s Rise Site of Grace in western Liurnia of the Lakes, break the desk and books directly ahead of you, and open the chest behind them to take Spectral Steed Regalia: Carian Silver.

What you need before the skin will show up

The steed appearances are part of the Tarnished Pack content, not the base game. If you are playing Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Switch 2, everything is already included. On PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, you need the separately sold Tarnished Pack DLC, and your game must be on version 1.17 or newer before an existing save will show the new items.

There is no level requirement and no prerequisite boss. The only real gate is reaching Ranni’s Rise itself, which means getting into Liurnia and making your way to the Three Sisters area in the northwest corner of the region.

Getting the Carian Silver regalia from the chest

Open your map and travel to the Ranni’s Rise Site of Grace. It sits along the western border of Liurnia of the Lakes, in the cluster of towers behind Caria Manor. If the grace is not unlocked yet, you will need to clear Caria Manor first to reach the Three Sisters.

Stand up from the grace and look at the room you are standing in. A desk stacked with books sits directly in front of the fast travel point, and it blocks the chest from view. Swing at the desk and books to smash them apart.

Open the chest that was hidden behind the furniture, near the bookshelves. Picking it up gives you Spectral Steed Regalia: Carian Silver. Some players find the chest more easily by climbing the stone stairs inside the tower first, but the ground floor room by the grace is the fastest route.

Note: the collectible is the regalia item, not an equipment piece. It goes straight into your inventory and does not occupy an armor slot or add weight.

Equipping Carian Silver at a Site of Grace

Rest at any Site of Grace. You do not have to return to Ranni’s Rise, and the option works everywhere once you own at least one regalia.

Scroll to Change spectral steed appearance. This entry only exists after you have collected your first regalia, so an empty menu means the item has not been picked up yet or the DLC has not applied.

Pick Carian Silver from the list, which also holds Original appearance, Tree Sentinel, and Funeral Night depending on what you have found. Confirm the choice and the game returns the message “Spectral steed’s appearance changed to ‘Carian Silver’”. Summon Torrent to check, and you should see the silver-white coat and matching barding.

If the option or the chest is missing

Only a few things stop this from working, and all of them are fixable before you make the trip.

On PC, PS5, or Xbox, the chest does not exist in your world unless the Tarnished Pack DLC is installed on that account.
An older save on a pre-1.17 build will not spawn the new items. Update the game, then reload the save.
The chest is genuinely obscured by the desk and books. If you cannot see it, you have not broken the furniture yet.
The grace menu entry appears only after your first regalia pickup, so a fresh character with no skins will not see it.

The other two spectral steed regalia

Carian Silver is one of three. Since they all feed the same grace menu, grabbing any one of them unlocks the appearance option for the rest.

Carian Silver is the easiest of the three to miss purely because the chest is hidden in plain sight, tucked behind scenery in a tower most players only visit for Ranni’s questline. Break the desk on your way in and Torrent gets his silver coat in under a minute.
