Elden Ring Tarnished Edition: Funereal Night Torrent Skin Location

Torrent can finally change clothes. The Tarnished Pack adds three cosmetic attires for the spectral steed, and the darkest of the set is Funereal Night, which swaps his usual look for the black caparison and funerary trappings worn by the Night’s Cavalry horses. It sits on the ground in the Lands Between rather than in a menu, so you have to go and pick it up.

Quick answer: Fast travel to the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace in Capital Outskirts, ride northeast up the stone stairs, then veer right into the wooded area with the giant swords planted in the ground. Spectral Steed Regalia: Funeral Night is lying next to one of the upright swords.

What you need before the item will spawn

The attire arrived with patch 1.17 alongside the Tarnished Pack, so it does not exist in an un-updated or un-owned copy of the game. On Nintendo Switch 2 it is already bundled into Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. On PlayStation, Xbox, and PC you need to buy the Tarnished Pack DLC separately, priced at $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99.

Nothing about the pickup is gated behind a boss, a quest, or a specific ending. If you can reach the road that climbs toward Leyndell, you can grab it.

Funereal Night attire location: Route from Outer Wall Battleground

Open the map and find the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace, sitting on the approach to Leyndell, Royal Capital in Capital Outskirts. If you have never lit it, ride up the main road from the Altus Plateau side until you reach it.

Fast travel there from the map. Any grace works as a departure point, so you can do this at almost any stage of a playthrough.

Summon Torrent and ride northeast, up the flight of stone stairs near the grace. Keep climbing until the ground levels out.

At the top, turn right into the patch of woods. You are looking for a cluster of enormous swords driven point-first into the earth, which is hard to miss once you are among the trees.

Look at the base of one of the upright swords and grab the glowing item on the ground. The pickup message reads Spectral Steed Regalia: Funeral Night.

If you are coming from the other direction, the same monument can be reached from the Hermit Merchant’s Shack Site of Grace just outside Leyndell. Head southeast, then bend south toward the cliff edge until the swords come into view.

How to equip the Funereal Night skin on Torrent

Rest at any Site of Grace. It does not need to be a specific one, and the Seethewater Terminus grace works just as well as anything near Leyndell.

Choose “Change spectral steed appearance” from the grace menu. This option only appears once the Tarnished Pack content is installed.

Select “Funeral Night” from the list and confirm. You will see the message “Spectral steed’s appearance changed to ‘Funeral Night’”, which is your confirmation it applied.

Summon Torrent afterwards and he should appear in black draped cloth with horns instead of his default look. The change is purely visual, so his speed, health, and double jump are untouched. You can revert to the standard appearance from the same menu whenever you want.

Why the skin or the pickup might not appear

The Tarnished Pack is not installed or not owned on your platform. Without it, the item does not spawn at the sword monument and the appearance option is missing from the grace menu.
The game has not been updated to patch 1.17, which is what introduced spectral steed attires.
You are looking at the wrong monument. The pickup sits beside one of the tall swords in the woods above the stairs, not on the road itself.

Once it is in your inventory, the attire is tied to your character rather than to the location, so you never need to return to Capital Outskirts to switch back to it.
