Windy weather is one of the more useful states to force in Fisch, and the Windset Totem is the only reliable way to trigger it on demand. The catch is that the totem is not sold at any merchant stall. It sits on a wooden table at the top of a cave on Snowcap Island, and reaching it involves a short stretch of parkour along narrow ledges.
Quick answer: Sail to Snowcap Island, enter Snowcap Cave through the leaf-covered opening, climb the ladder just inside on the left, and follow the ledges and stone pillar up to the totem behind the vegetation. Each purchase costs 2,000 C$, and you can buy more than one in a single visit.
Windset Totem cost, effect, and coordinates
No quest, level requirement, or unlock gates the totem. If you can physically reach the table and have the cash, you can buy it.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Cost | 2,000 C$ per totem |
| Effect | Forces the weather to Windy |
| Location | Snowcap Cave, Snowcap Island |
| Totem coordinates | X: 2851, Y: 178, Z: 2703 |
| Cave entrance | Roughly 2900, 150, 2500 |
| Type | Consumable — disappears after use |
| Trading | Cannot be sold or traded |
Because it can’t be traded, nobody can hand you one. Every totem in your inventory has to be bought at the table yourself. A GPS, sold for 100 C$ on a chair near the merchants on the starting island, makes the coordinates above readable in-game and takes most of the guesswork out of the approach.

Climbing Snowcap Cave to the Windset Totem
Inside, the route goes straight up. Falls here are survivable, but they cost you the whole climb, so take the ledges slowly.

There’s also an outside approach if the parkour is giving you trouble. Climb the rocks behind the Merchant’s house, take the lamp-lit path around the edge of the island toward the pond, and enter the cave through the opening on the left after the tree. That route drops you in from above, near the ladder at the top, with the totem facing you.
Confirming the purchase and stocking up
Interact with the totem and a shop prompt appears asking, “Are you sure you would like to purchase 1x Windset Totem for 2,000 C$?” Accept it and the totem lands in your inventory. If the prompt appears but the purchase doesn’t go through, the only cause is not having 2,000 C$ on hand.
The table doesn’t have a stock limit, so buy several while you’re standing there. Totems are consumed on use, and repeating that climb every time you want windy weather is a poor use of a fishing session. When you eventually use one, the server broadcasts a message reading “[Player] used a Windset Totem to force Wind” and the weather flips over immediately.
Tip: Windy weather pairs with the Breezed enchantment on rods for a +65% luck bonus, so it’s worth having the enchantment applied before you burn a totem.
Beyond the luck bonus, forced wind is what players use to line up the Sei Whale hunt and to fish for species that only appear in windy conditions. Given how far Snowcap Island is from Moosewood, treat the trip as a supply run rather than a one-off errand and leave with a stack.
