The wooden door tucked inside the beach cave in Dress to Impress is sealed by a five-pointed star lock, and each point matches one colored gem hidden somewhere on the map. None of the gems are simply lying on the ground. Each one spawns only after you finish a small task, and the door stays shut until you have all five.
Quick answer: In Freeplay Mode, touch the hanging plant in the Dressing Room (Green), turn all four runway spotlights red (Red), carry the pink book from Lana’s kitchen to the Diva High School classroom bookshelf (Purple), smash the piggy bank with the hammer and drop the coin in the fountain (Blue), and light all five beach lanterns (Yellow). Pick up each gem after it spawns, then return to the cave.
Secret door requirements in Freeplay Mode
The gem hunt only exists in Freeplay Mode. Standard runway rounds do not spawn the puzzles, so if you are in a normal match, none of the triggers below will do anything. Use the Teleport button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to switch over, or pick Freeplay Mode from the Select Server menu when you launch Dress to Impress on Roblox.

The cave itself sits on the right-hand side of the beach, down the path opposite the Scarlet Fierce NPC. Walking inside before you start is worth doing once, since the wall symbols and the star lock show which colors you still need. Nothing here costs Robux, and the gems can be collected in any order.

| Gem | Where it spawns | What triggers it |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Dressing Room | Jump and touch the hanging plant pot |
| Red | Middle of the runway | Set all four stage spotlights to red |
| Purple | Diva High School hallway | Place the pink book on the classroom bookshelf |
| Blue | Garden room fountain | Break the piggy bank, drop the coin in the fountain |
| Yellow | Beach path | Light all five lanterns |
Green and Red Gems: Dressing Room and runway
These two are the fastest, and both are indoors, so clear them before you head outside.
Purple and Blue Gems: Lana’s house, the school, and the fountain
Both of these start in Lana’s house, so it makes sense to grab the book and the hammer on the same trip.

Yellow Gem: All five lantern locations on the beach
The Yellow Gem takes the longest because the five lanterns are small and spread across the beach and the area around the yacht. Clicking one lights it up, and the gem only spawns once all five are lit.

| Lantern | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | Next to the pool tube at the beach entrance |
| 2 | Beside the black rock on the path to the cave |
| 3 | At the feet of the Scarlet Fierce NPC |
| 4 | Behind a beach umbrella on the secluded beach to the right of the boat |
| 5 | Near a surfboard on the small beach to the left of the boat |
When the fifth lantern lights, “A gem has been revealed!” flashes on screen and the Yellow Gem appears along the path. Walk into it to collect it.

Opening the cave door and claiming the Scarlet Doll
A counter tracks your progress, moving from “1/5 Gems Found” up to “5/5 Gems Found.” Once it hits five, the prompt “I should return to the cave now!” appears. That message is your confirmation that every puzzle registered.

Walk back down the beach path into the cave. The gems slot into the star lock automatically and the wooden door swings open, revealing an underwater-themed room full of floating bubbles.
The bubbles are an obby. Jump from one to the next until you reach the treasure chest at the top, then interact with it and press the Lost Treasure claim button. That unlocks the Scarlet Doll, a toggle for the Lana Doll accessory, along with a badge for finishing the quest. A pop-up reading “Unlocked” confirms the reward has been added.

Why a gem does not spawn
Nearly every failed attempt comes down to one of a handful of things.
- You are not in Freeplay Mode. The puzzles do not exist in the regular game modes.
- A gem spawned but was never picked up. Spawning it is not enough — you have to walk into it for the counter to move.
- Only some of the runway spotlights are red. All four have to be cycled to red at the same time.
- One lantern is still unlit. Four out of five does nothing; the beach and both sides of the boat all need a sweep.
- The book was picked up but never placed. It has to go onto the classroom bookshelf, not just be carried into the school.
With a clean run, all five gems take roughly five to ten minutes, and the bubble obby adds a couple more. The Scarlet Doll arrived alongside the Summer 2025 update and the Scarlet Fierce treasure hunt, and the developers have not said whether it stays in the game permanently — so if you want it, it is worth clearing before the event content rotates out.
