The 100-token defensive evo caps at 98 OVR, adds +10 overall, and rewards fullbacks and holding midfielders most.

Shutout Specialist is a two-level defensive Evolution in FC 26 that sits in the Pre-Season Token Store for 100 tokens. It hands out a flat +10 overall alongside a stack of defending, physical, and composure boosts, which means any eligible card can walk out the other side as a 99-rated item.

Quick answer: Slot in a CDM, CM, LB, or RB rated 98 or below that already has strong pace and passing, then play two matches. Heggem Showdown, Xhaka PTG, Davies PTG, Cannavaro FUTTIES Icon, and Bouaddi Phenoms are the standout picks.

Who is eligible for Shutout Specialist

The entry requirements are unusually loose, which is a large part of why this Evolution is worth the tokens. There are only two gates.

Because the ceiling is 98 rather than the usual low-90s cap, top-end Icons, promo cards, and cards you have already pushed through other Evolution chains all remain eligible. There is no PlayStyle limit, no rarity block, and no restriction on outfield position beyond keeper.

Every stat boost across both levels

Level 1 carries the overall bump and the reactive defending stats. Level 2 is where the physicality and tackling arrive. Several boosts carry a hard cap, shown after the pipe.

Note: nothing here touches pace, shooting, dribbling, or passing. Whatever your card brings in those departments is what it keeps, so the input matters more than usual.

The picks below all pair high existing pace and passing with defensive stats that this Evolution can maximize. Fullbacks and holding midfielders benefit most because the boosts land squarely on the attributes their roles depend on.

An existing Evolution chain is also fair game as long as it still sits at 98 overall or lower. Feeding a chain card in here is the cleanest way to convert a project player into a 99, since the +10 overall applies on top of everything you have already stacked.

Tip: LB is the position that gets the most out of the full package. A left back already carries the pace to recover, and the Evolution supplies the stamina, strength, and tackling ceilings to make them viable for a full 90.

How to complete both levels

The challenge list is as light as it gets. There are no win requirements and no clean sheet requirements, despite the name.

Buy the Evolution from the Pre-Season Token Store for 100 tokens and apply it to your chosen card. Make sure the card is not a goalkeeper and is rated 98 or lower before you commit.
Play one match in any mode with the active EVO player in your starting eleven. Completing that single game clears Level 1 and applies the +10 overall along with the interceptions, defensive awareness, composure, balance, heading, and reactions boosts.
Play one more match with the same player to finish Level 2. That unlocks aggression, jumping, both tackling stats, stamina, and strength.

You will know it worked when the card’s rating updates in your club and the Evolution shows both levels marked complete. If the boosts do not register, the usual cause is the player not being in the starting lineup for the match, since the challenge tracks games played by the active EVO player rather than matches played by your club.

Two games for a 99-rated defender is about as cheap as upgrades get, so the real decision is which card you spend it on. Pick something you already like using at CDM, CM, or fullback, and let the Evolution handle the rest.
