The Boaratos is a giant, fire-wielding boar added to ARK: Survival Ascended in the Astraeos DLC, and it is one of the more punishing tames in the game. It attacks on sight, hits extremely hard, and while burning it can smash through any structure type, including stone and TEK. Taming it takes preparation, but the payoff is a battle mount with full fire immunity and a strong set of active abilities.
Quick answer: Knock the Boaratos out with tranquilizer shots from a Longneck Rifle, keep it sedated with Narcotics or Bio Toxin, then feed it Extraordinary Kibble (or Raw Mutton) until the taming bar fills. Lure or drop it into shallow water first to extinguish its flames and stop it destroying your trap.
Where to find Boaratos on Astraeos
Boaratos only spawns on the Astraeos map, so you will not encounter it on Genesis 1 or other versions. On Astraeos, it is common, and you will find large numbers of them around the Therokis region. They can appear in many areas, but the Therokis spawns are the most reliable place to hunt for a high-level target.
Approach with caution. These boars are extremely aggressive and will charge you the moment they see you. There are no known baby Boaratos in the wild, so an adult knockout tame is the way to get one.
Taming requirements
This is a knockout-only tame. The hardest part is that its torpor drains very fast once it is down, so bring far more sedatives than you think you need. A Longneck Rifle lets you land tranquilizer shots from a safe distance, which matters because a burning Boaratos can flatten most traps and bases.

Note: Extraordinary Kibble tames a high-level Boaratos in a few minutes at close to full effectiveness, while Raw Mutton and meats take much longer and yield fewer bonus levels. Rarer foods also spoil quickly, so harvest them shortly before you knock it out.
The safest way to knock out a Boaratos
Tip: If it is not fully submerged it can still stomp and breathe fire, and it can survive brief contact with lava, so keep it away from lava while you work.

The Boaratos fights with tusks and fire. Its standard attacks harvest Charcoal directly from trees, and once you activate Hog’s Wrath it gains a set of more powerful fire moves. Several attacks can damage any structure type, so it doubles as a demolition mount.

Passive abilities
Flameproof Fur grants the rider full fire immunity, plus 787 Hypothermic and 1,125,000 Hyperthermic insulation. That combination makes the Boaratos a strong choice against fire-based threats, including the Dragon boss. Its second passive, Free Movement, lets it move freely in every direction, including strafing and reversing.

What a tamed Boaratos is good for
Once tamed, the Boaratos works best as a battle mount. Focus its level-ups on Health and Melee Damage to take advantage of its Bleeding and Enflamed debuffs, which are strong against high-armor and tanky targets. Its fire immunity also makes it a viable Dragon boss fighter.
Outside of combat it doubles as a fast Charcoal harvester, since its bite and tusk attacks strip Charcoal straight from trees, which is handy for making gunpowder in bulk. It also drops Bacon, Hide, Pelt, and a guaranteed Boaratos Tusk when killed, and its attacks that damage any structure make it a capable base breaker. With its fire immunity, insulation, and heavy-hitting kit, the Boaratos rewards the effort it takes to knock one out.
